    OLD CONCEPT OF

    OLD AGE HOMES

INSTITUTE GREEN HOMES FOR THIRD AGE

    RESTRUCTURING TRADITIONAL OLD

    AGE HOMES

A radical departure from traditional skilled nursing homes and

assisted living facilities, The Green House model willalters facility

size, interior design, staffing patterns, and methods of delivering

skilled professional services. Instead of providing care in large

institutional, medical-style buildings, theGreen Housesprovides it

in smaller, more home-like residential-looking buildings that

serve around 8 to 12 people, giving each of them a private room

and bath, and arranged around a central family-style kitchen,

    dining, and living area.

Is a specific culture change model for improving the physical

environment and altering the organizational structure to improve

residents care, with the goal of providing a home like

environment with control in the hands of residents, all within the

current nursing home environment. An Elder-centered

community creates opportunity to give as well as receive care.

This is the antidote to helplessness.
