REPORT ON Sewage Treatment Plant Visit 2017-18

A sewage treatment plant visit for second year B.Pharm student was organized

on 15/03/2018. Details of the visit are as follows:

Adgoan, Nashik.

Time: 10.30 am

Total no.of students visited the sewage treatment plant: 40

Highlights of the visit:

Mr. Pritam Ahirrao gave brief over view of sewage treatment plant: its

working principle and functions of various units of treatment plant such

screens, grit chamber, primary clarifier, aeration tank, secondary clarifier,

sludge digester, etc.

On all sites the students saw first-hand how the waste sludges are

collected, processed and disposed off.

These processes included anaerobic digestion, thickening, blending and

dewatering.

Conclusion:

Through the visit, students got an in depth knowledge of the various

components of the sewage treatment plant. The visit was quite helpful for

the students to get the practical knowledge regarding the functioning and

process of sewage treatment plant.
