This Newsletter mirrors the vision and mission of IPEC. It also highlights the events activi-ties and achivents, I have tried to capture last 6 months excitement. I do hope that “KRITII’s second edition will encourage many more students to come forward and express their talent and creativity.

Workshop on “Geo-5 Software”

A one-week work-shop on Geo-5 in association with Tvostar Technolo-gies was orga-nized under guid-ance of Prof. Rambahadur Gup-ta and Deep Ku-mar from 28th march to 4th april. Total of 27 students participated in the event. Faculty who participated in the event were Sunayana Singh, Ram Bahadur Gupta, Mahima Khendelwal and Deep Kumar. Workshop was innovative and good for students as well as for faculties. The way of software teaching and training was easy to understand. Total 11 assignments were solved in class. On the basis of review of the students and the faculty participants the workshop is gained 8.5/10 rating.

Workshop on “MX-Road”

A 1 day workshop on “MX-ROAD” was organized by Prof. De-varshi Pratap Singh for 3rd Year. Total of 40 students partici-pated in the workshop. The topics covered in the workshop were: In this seminar Concepts and terminology, Starting up MX – New Project, Survey Data Input and Import, Viewing Models, Status Tools, Surface Checker and Editing Data and Surface Analysis – Triangles and Contours This seminar also includes Housekeeping & Model file mainte-nance, String Naming Conventions, Vertical Quick Alignment, etc. This software also includes paved and unpaved shoulder de-sign, Kerbs, Footways and Verges, Earthwork slope design, Pavement Layer Design, Volume Reports, Final Drawings Pub-lish Drawings and Final Drawings Cross Section Display, etc.

Seminar on” REVIT Architecture”

A seminar on REVIT architecture was organized for 2nd year students under the coordinator ship of Prof. Anju Agarwala and Mohit Gupta. A total of 98 students participated in the semi-nar. The objective of the Autodesk Revit Architecture Fundamentals training course is to enable students to create full 3D architec-tural project models The topics in this Autodesk Revit Architecture training course included Understanding the purpose of Building Information Management (BIM) and how it is applied in the Autodesk Revit software, Navigating the Autodesk Revit workspace and inter-face, Creating a 3D building model with walls, curtain walls, windows, and doors., Adding floors, ceilings, and roofs to the building model., Setting up sheets for plotting with text, dimen-sions, details, tags, and schedules.

GATE-FIESTA

GATE Fiesta was orga-nized by technical team of SRIJAN For 2nd & 4th year students On 6th and 7th Febraury 2017 as a mock test for GATE preparation. Event was conducted in two rounds. In Round1 questions solved were evaluated & students have shortlisted for Round2. Round2 was an interview. After Round2, final merit list was prepared based on the total marks scored by the student in both the rounds. Winner of the events were

Seminar on “Emerging Trends of Disaster Management”

An Interactive seminar was organized by Prof. Anju Agarwal for 2nd year students on” Emerging Trends of disaster man-agement in India”. The speakers of the event were from NDMA and around 100 students has participated in the event. The objectives of this seminar to the students is to define dis-aster, hazard, vulnerability and risk, describe the types and the causes of disasters. Discuss the magnitude and distribution of disasters and explain different phases of disasters. Reconstruc-tion the full resumption of socio-economic activities plus pre-ventive measures. Various subjects about Disaster were dis-cussed in the Seminar.

Site Visit at DMRC Kalindi Kunj Metro station

The objective of site visit is to explore and understand practical knowledge of construction site and to enhance the technical knowledge and exposure of site. The following major construction activities were seen at the DMRC site. The erection of Pre Engi-

neered Buildings also known as PEB Buildings for the re-pair and maintenance of Metro at Kalindikunj Metro depot.

Overview of Principal Rafters and their alignment.

Use of Purlins and how pur-lins erect at the site.

Purpose and use of Gantry Girders at site.

PEB proves to be relevant and beneficial to several construc-tion verticals including ware-housing, infrastructure, oil & gas refineries as well as group hous-ing. The advantages of having a steel structure or building over traditional concrete are far too many. .

Picturesque

Picturesque, a literary event which was organized on 27th feb & 1st March 2017 under supervision of Prof. Sunayana Singh. The event consists of 2 rounds in which 5 different themes was given to participants for capturing pictures and students were asked to give explanation of the captured pictures. Winners:

Srijan Felicitation Ceremony

A felicitation program was organized under “SRIJAN” in the guidance of Prof. Prerna Raghava for the acknowledgement and felicitation of all the event winners of different activities organized by SRIJAN in session 2016-17. Highlights of the event: Lamp lightning by Dr. BC Sharma (Director) and Dr. Seema (HOD) All the faculty and student coordinators of cultural, literary and technical events and winners of various events were acknowledged and given certificates. Cake cutting done by Dr. Seema (HOD) for the success of events.

Site visit at IPEC Canteen and Raman Sabhagar Construc-

A site visit was organized for 2nd year students under the su-pervision of Prof. Anurag Yadav for 2nd Year students from 23rd to 25th jan in 2 different slots. A total of 110 students participated in the visit. the site is a two storey building in which ground floor is can-teen and second floor is auditorium. The second year students have seen the building materials, drawing of building etc. Building Site: reinforcement in column and beams. Learning Outcomes: Students seen the brick masonry, types of brick joint. Student seen there reinforcement detailing in beams and columns. Concreting in columns.
