He whoreveals it will die a sudden death.72 According to theBook ofGates this is the Mystery of the Great God.73 In Vedic India,the central theme of what can be denoted by no other termthan Aryan mysticism74 is the secret of Agni (fire) hidden inwater (Varua), viz. the mystery of the luminous Prajpati-Brahm hidden within the black and aqueous body.75 TheAkkadian bull-ritual likewise associated the pelt of the black

bull with the mystery of Anu, Enlil, Ea(Enki) and ofNinmah, i.e. the black gods of Sumer/Akkad.76
