This 2nd appeal, like that of the Leap of Faith ap- peal, provides us with the chance to learn and grow again in our faith and understanding that ‘it’ all belongs to God and we are the faithful stewards of what is God’s during our lifetimes and beyond with good planning for Lega- cy Gifts. With gratitude to God for their faith, two women who have complet- ed their earthly life, have provided legacy gifts for Spirit of Grace that will be the two lead gifts for this 2nd appeal: two $20,000 Legacy Gifts thanks to the estates of Marilyn Caruso and Adrianne Buck. May we be inspired by their faith and thank you God for continuing to inspire us & call us to grow in your grace! Stay tuned for more info on Grow in Grace.

Welcome Back Pr. Charles ‘Chick’ Lane,

our capital appeal consultant, is here to help us do what we envision doing for the 2nd capital appeal! He will be preaching this upcoming weekend, Feb 29th & March 1st. During this trip he will also be training up our leadership for each of the appeal teams needed for our focused appeal time in March. A reminder, this appeal will be shorter: April 19, 2020 to Dec 31, 2021 and have a financial target number that is less than Leap of Faith, too.

“Grow in Grace” has been selected by the council to become the name of the 2nd capital appeal. This 2nd capital appeal was voted on at the January congregational meeting; it will be a shorter length, April 19, 2020 to Dec 31, 2021 and of a lessor dollar amount than Leap of Faith. As we celebrate the success and the accomplishments of the Leap of Faith Capital Appeal, that will conclude on Easter, April 12, 2020, there also still re-mains the need to fully complete what was begun for both church facilities: the Kitchens & More than the Kitchens! Many thanks to Carole Coleman & Mae Haines who have agreed to be Co-Chairs for the Grow in Grace 2nd appeal. More information to come about putting together kitchen dreams as well as appeal teams! Of course, when we join together our efforts fueled by our generous contributions, God uses them for God’s pur-poses of ministry and making a difference in people’s lives. Stephen Ministers are Christian Caregivers They go through training to learn about Christian Caregiving. They are there for people who are dealing with grieving a death, divorce, medical problems, terminal illness, and transitions in their life and need someone to talk to about their feelings about what they are going through. Listening is what Ste-phen Ministers do. There is confidentially between the Caregivers and the Care receivers, so what is said is just between them. They meet and provide comfort and support and prayer for as long as it is needed. The Stephen Ministers of Spirit of Grace also make hospital visits and give home communion. They join in the prayer ministry for and with you. If you are is interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, contact Karen Beeten at 727-457-8310.

Dear Spirit of Grace, Ash Wednesday worship services were held this week. As you know, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent: the 40 day journey to-ward Easter. Lent is classically a peni-tential time, a time for repentance, and a time to draw closer to God who made us and loves us. This Lenten season

will co-inside with the Grow in Grace 2nd Capital Ap-peal. Really a perfect intersection when you think about it. The 3 disciplines of Lent are prayer, fasting and giv-ing, especially to those in need. When we intentionally begin or increase our practice of these spiritual disci-plines we open ourselves up to grow closer to God and grow in God’s grace and goodness that is intended for us and all that God has made. So Grow in Grace makes both a great intersection with Lent & is a great Lenten theme!

See you in Worship with grateful hearts, Pr. Rita Gardner Tweed, Lead Pastor, Spirit of Grace

The FISH! Philosophy was inspired by the climate of the World Famous Seattle Fish Market and how its staff interacted with their customers in such a way that really made them literally ‘world famous’ Whether these climate makers are adopted in a business, hospital, or school, they make a difference for the people who come to use their services. The same is true for the ministry of a congregation! When people come to the services of worship, we can consciously and interactively be aware of the climate that greets people. “Who are we being when we are doing what we

are doing?” when you come to worship or come to a small group meeting. Are we really present for people, bringing a child-like spirit to play & make someone’s day? Do you choose your attitude and seek to lift the attitude of another? Each of these princi-ples creates a positive climate that is attractive to newcomers and makes a difference — Try It! Make a new friend!

Join the new Men’s Faith & Fix It Group! All men are invited to come together for Bible study & light projects @ the grace place North Campus. Gather for some food, feed your faith, and finish some simple projects that take care of God’s house North Campus. Special thanks to Gene Kortier, Pr. George Metzenthin & Pr. Jim Neal who will rotate leading an engaging bible study each month. This group meets the 2nd Wed of the month @ 6 pm & the 2nd Sat of the month @ 9:00 am. Pastor Jim Neal will be leading the March bible study.

Memorial Matters Spirit of Grace has a unique opportunity when a new sanctuary is built or renovated. We get the unique opportunity of giving thanks to God through providing special donations or memorials, above and beyond our foundation-al tithes and offerings, that are given to the glory of God, or to honor special loved ones and give thanks to God for their lives and faith. These gifts help appoint the new sanctu-aries with all they need to be worshipful. Prayerfully consider the memorial gifts listed and let Pr. Rita know promptly of your desired memorial gift. Your Memorial Matters!

Memorial Gifts New Advent Stand (North) & Candles (both campuses) Refinishing of Altar Pieces (South) Stained Glass Mounting (South) Communion Ware (both campuses) New Narthex Furnishings (both campuses) New Prayground Furnishings (both campuses) (indoor area for parents/children) New Nursery Furnishings (both campuses) Baby Grand Piano (South) You can make a memorial gift that is also open to be used as most needed, too
