The file you are downloading is a Zip file containing BibleWorks font files. Once the fonts files are downloaded and extracted from the Zip file, install the font files as you would any other font:

1. Click Start | Settings | Control Panel and then double click the "Fonts" icon.

2. In the Fonts applet click File | Install New Font.

3. In the Add Fonts Dialog, navigate to the folder where the extracted fonts are located.

4. Select the fonts and then click OK. The fonts are now installed.

Database QualityThe most commonly used Bible translations are essentially error-free, but some

specialized versions and the Greek and Hebrew morphological databases used today still need work. This is a new industry, and it will take time for these databases to settle. This is true of all packages on the market. Be wary of anyone who claims perfection in this area. Database quality is a moving target -- the more important issue is a company’s commitment to correcting problems and providing a quality product. It will be a few years before the quality of these databases will be such that you can store your copy of Hatch and Redpath in the attic! Until then, serious scholars will want to cross-check final conclusions with the standard printed reference works.

Substantial progress has been made, and ongoing projects continue to improve the quality of our databases. Corrections to these databases and our other versions are posted to our web site on a regular basis. They are free to download for registered BibleWorks users.

El software contiene tres ventanas principales:1. La Ventana de Comando o de Búsqueda. Es donde se introducen palabras o frases para hacer una búsqueda. Hay una variedad de opciones: por ejemplo, si quieres buscar donde la Biblia nos dice: “No tema”, se puede ingresar "no o ni", "temor o temer". Adicionalmente hay otra búsqueda gráfica para investigaciones complejas. La línea de comando ofrece botones de inserción para las diferentes opciones. Los resultados de la búsqueda se ven atrás de la línea.2. La Ventana de Resultados. Esta área muestra el texto de la Biblia en sus diferentes versiones o en una sola versión. Es decir, se puede mostrar Reina Valera, La Biblia de las Américas y la NVI juntas con el griego y hebreo original.3. La Ventana de Análisis. Esta es la ventana con toda la información sobre las palabras en el texto que se encuentra en los lexicones, diccionarios, gramáticas y los demás libros como la crítica textual y los Padres de la Iglesia. También se ven las referencias cruzadas, estadísticas y tablas de las frecuencias de palabras. Además en esta ventana está ubicado un editor de textos, y la facilidad de pegar notas de texto.La ventana de Análisis lleva 13 etiquetas, por eso es posible dividirla en dos ventanas y ajustar las posiciones de las etiquetas entre ellas. El panel de editor de textos es desplegable, lo cual es muy útil, cuando deseas escribir apuntas durante el uso del programa.La interfaz es intuitiva con el orden de ventanas y simple de utilizar con sus iconos.

Las ventanas emergentes muestran información sobre palabras en el texto. Por ejemplo se ve rápidamente la traducción de hebreo o griego, con los datos sintácticos y gramaticales. También referencias a versículos bíblicos en los diccionarios.Para el mundo académico, BibleWorks ofrece el formato correcto para citar el programa en una bibliografía.

Las debilidades del programa son:· Inglés. La interfaz está en inglés y también en este idioma están los mapas, gramáticas, lexicones; Josefo, Filón y Padres de la Iglesia, están en inglés. Solamente las Biblias están en español. La página Web de BibleWorks proporciona un foro en español.· Idiosincrático. Todavía hay aspectos idiosincrásicos en el programa. A veces es difícil utilizar BibleWorks por la tendencia de ocultar información. Por ejemplo, los recursos sobre textos bíblicos paralelos como citas del Antiguo Testamento en el Nuevo Testamento están guardados en archivos con nombres abreviados como, "mnt", "ot2" y "notot".

¿Quien es el tipo de persona que utilizaría BibleWorks?

Los usuarios principales del programa son: · Predicadores: BibleWorks mejoró la rapidez de entender las palabras del texto bíblico o buscar frases particulares. Aunque el predicador no haya tenido el privilegio de tener estudios en los idiomas originales de la Biblia, puede apreciar su significado con la información que el programa pone a su disposición.

· Estudiantes: Para los que estudian griego y hebreo hay tarjetas didácticas y tablas de paradigmas, y también las gramáticas. Para la preparación de ensayos y disertaciones es posible construir búsquedas complejas del texto bíblico. Mapas de diagramas de oraciones son producidos y también información estadística sobre palabras y frases en sus idiomas originales o en español.

· Profesores: La página Web de BibleWorks ofrece una serie de 43 videos en inglés con el título, "Recursos para el aula". Estos contienen ideas para que los profesores puedan aplicar BibleWorks en beneficio de sus alumnos. Por ejemplo, comparar el vocabulario en los sinópticos, producir ejercicios en traducción y destacar textos.
