This dimension displays the degree in which individuals are combined into groups. Individualism focus on self-orientation, private life and making decisions based on individual needs but collectivistic focus on group orientation, shame culture and making decisions based on what is best for the group according to Hofstede’s culture dimensions (author, n.d.). The scene above shows an example of Accountability (individualism/collective) dimension. So the scene shows a difference between individualism and collectivism culture in the scenario which was between Puro and Mr. Todd. Firstly, Puro start to ask Mr. Todd about his family and dose he live with them, but Mr. Todd said that his family live in a place that two hours far from where he live, then Puro side “but you see them every week”, but Mr. Todd replayed “no I see them few times a year”. which shows how that Todd represent how the American culture is individualism, but Puro’s family lives so far away but he sees them every week which represent how the Indian culture is so collective.

The scene above shows an example of communication (Direct/Indirect) dimension. This dimension displays the degree in which direct people talk to indirect people. Direct focus on Express views and opinions in a frank manner and Be more direct in speaking and less concerned about how things are said but indirect Focus not just on what is said but how it is said and Express views and opinions diplomatically. So the scene shows how Mr. Todd speak to the people around him in a direct way when he said “where is the glass for this office”, and shows that Mr. Todd comes from a culture they speak to each other and with the people around them very direct, but the culture of the people around Mr. Todd which is the Indian culture shows that they communicate with each other in an indirect way.

The scene above shows an example of an Outlook view (Tradition/Innovation) dimension. This dimension displays a degree of what the person is more oriented in is it the past or future. Past-focused people tend to Show respect for ancestors and older people but future-focused people tend to think the present and past used for future advantage. So the scene shows how Puro is a future-focused person, because when they give each other their business cards Mr. Toddy card shows his real position in the company but in Puro card he wrote “Future Call Center Manager”, which shows that Puro putting his plans and strategies to the future.

4.

The formal style focus in Using titles Mr, Mrs and Dr, and Clear rules of status, but informal style focus in how you act and what you say to who is not as important and Less clearly defined rules of status. So the scene shows how Mr. Todd acting informally in front of Puro’s family by eating with his left hand which is against the Indian formal culture because they consider eating with left hand is not good because it’s not clean, but also this scene shows how Puro talked to Mr. Toddy in a formal way not with making a problem and start causing a caios.
