Introduction
I propose a walk through the most beautiful village in
England. It's called Bibury and is set between the eastern hills of
the Cotswolds, on the banks of the Coln River.
Bibury,England
Besides the idyllic location of fresh green almost all year round,
this village attracts attention through its stone constructions in the
honey color.
The main street, Arlington Row, can only be reached after walking
down a stone bridge.
On both sides of the street there are beautifully tucked houses in the
traditional still English cottage. Were built in the seventeenth century
and their original destination was warehouses for wool, the most
important source of income for locals was the sheep breeding. Over
time, they have been converted into homes, and nowadays many of them
have sheltered restaurants and hostels from three stars up.
It is a major destination for tourists visiting the traditional rural
villages, tea houses and many historic buildings of the Cotswold
District; it is one of six places in the country featured in Mini-Europe,
Brussels.

In the center of the village is the old mill,
Arlington Mill, where corn was grinded. Now the
mill has been transformed into a museum of folk
culture and agricultural traditions . The mill, with
its water-based wheel, goes even better today than
a few hundred years ago.
Another reason for pride in Bibury is the
trout breed that annually produces over 10 million
rainbow trout delivered throughout England.
Tourists are attracted to the restaurants
that use as a "raw material" precisely this type of
very tasty trout. The fish can be bought either
fresh or smoked from the brewery store, or even
captured personally by amateurs. A lovely
landscaped park and the gardens of the Arlington
cottages, full of roses, make the atmosphere
idyllic.

On the other bank of the river, the village is grouped around
the old church of St. Mary, whose inspiring Saxon dates back to
the 8th century. Near the church is the Swan Hotel, the oldest
hotel in the village, a former inn of the century XVII.
Adjacent to the church is the village primary school that was
built in the 1850s. In 2015 the school had 43 pupils on its roll in
two classes.
On the Arlington (west) side of the village is Arlington Baptist
Church, where a congregation has been meeting since the 1740s.

While in Bibury, you really
need to visit the Arlington Row of
Weaver's Cottages, the Bibury Trout
Farm and the Arlington Mill,
although this is now a private
dwelling so only an outside view is
possible. Also take a short walk from
the Bibury village center to the
Church of St. Mary
The largest building in Bibury
is Bibury Court, built in 1633 in the
style of Jacobean architecture. It is a
Grade I listed building, and was
recently a hotel. Bibury Court, built in 1633.

Conclusion
The entire Cotswolds is full of charm so a visit there can only
be a joy. And the picturesque Bibury is one of the proofs that
history goes hand in hand with modern times, and the traces they
leave are valued and remembered.
