A pioneer in the sport of windsurfing BIC Sport is today THE international water sports specialist. Forerunner in surfboard mass-manufacture, European leader in the sit-on-top kayak market with very innovative products, instigator behind new windsurfing techniques for the young, BIC Sport has also given a new impetus to junior sailing with its new dinghy the O'pen BIC, has innovated the sport of kitesurfing with its optimum-safety Takoon kites and shows creativity in the very conservative world of tenders. In 2010 BIC Sport widens its ranges with several innovative products, aiming all the while to provide quality and innovation at the best price. BIC Sport has another major goal, and that is to provide attractive One Design products to young sailors in windsurfing and sailing, in collaboration with the French Sailing Federation and the international federations. The Techno 293 One Design in windsurf and the O'pen BIC in sailing which both continue to grow world wide with two very dynamic classes.

Sustainable development: a priority goal for BIC Sport
Most BIC Sport products are made in France with particular attention drawn to environment-conscious manufacturing. For example, the kayaks, tenders, and the O'pen BIC dinghy, are made in thermoformed polyethylene using the "Twin Sheet" technology. This manufacturing process is particularly environmentally-friendly as there is no waste matter. During the manufacturing process, any surplus material is recycled back, and there are no gas emissions. All these products can be recycled. Another point: production cycle is short and therefore very low on electricity consumption.
Two prizes have been awarded to BIC Sport for the O'pen BIC in this respect: The prize of the "Bateau Bleu" in 2007 and the "Etoile" of the "Observeur du Design" in 2008.
Whether you're a sports enthousiast, week-end kayakist or a keen fisherman, on your own or with passengers, BIC Sport's range of sit on top kayaks is the best way of having fun out on the water. Sea, river or lake, they really are totally adapted to all kinds of water, with excellent handling for all sorts of sports and games. Stable, practical, strong and striking all at the same time, they're a must for your holidays. The BIC Sport range is further extended to cover your every need.
Whether you want fully rigid, semi-rigid or inflatable kayaks, the same attention to detail goes into every product, the same build quality, the same up to date design concepts that got BIC Sport awarded another prestigious Etoile du Design 2010 for the YAKKAir 1.The innovative YAKKAir range is further embellished this year with two new models aimed at beach holiday paddling.
The new wave of fishing kayaks that we set rolling a few years ago has extended itself to include 4 fully but differently fitted models. And we didn't wait for the ecology bandwagon to come along to start respecting the environment : all our rigid and semi-rigid models are and always have been recyclable.
Happy paddling !

When you sit down in a YAKKAir HP, the high-pressure floor (A) presses down on the high-pressure keel (B) putting the PVC skin (C) under tension. Under the pressure of the water, the skin stretches and curves out to give the hull its high-performance double concave shape.Rigid stiffeners fitted

When you sit down in a YAKKAir Lite, the low-pressure tubes of the floor come to lean on the reinforced PVC skin, making the hull stretch. This solid skin protects the tubes from the effects of sand and rock abrasion.

Arising from the YAKKAir HP designs, the YAKKAir Lite range is particular suited to a more “beach” use. Stable, strong and very light, these low-pressure kayaks have superior glide characteristics and are made from higher-quality materials than that of other low-pressure inflatable kayaks on the market. They come at a very competitive price.
The YAKKAir HP innovative range of 2009 marked a significant turning-point in the world of inflatable kayaks, achieving a level of performance second to none. This year two new models, the YAKKAir Lite, broaden the range, and are aimed at coastal paddling close to the beach. Both the HP and Lite YAKKAirs come folded up in their own back-pack carry bag and are set up in a matter of minutes.
Optimal use of materials and a high pressure keel/floor are the main guiding principles of this range, in order to have as light a kayak as possible with a particularly high-performance V shaped hull. The YAKKAir HP kayaks are lighter, more comfortable and show higher performance than the traditional type of inflatable kayaks. They are in this respect on a par with any rigid sit-on-top kayak.

Windsurfing harnesses the natural elements of the water and the wind to produce a sport that is exciting and exhilarating for all. BIC Windsurf aims to make the experience of windsurfing as simple as possible by developing products that are functional, easy to use, timeless and cost effective.
BIC Sport pursues these goals in 2010 with its new range "the Beach" boards, specifically designed for schools, and with the new Core 160D which comes with a daggerboard.
The development of the Techno 293OD is another major priority; proof of the continuing growth of the Class worldwide was the turnout at the latest World Championships, in Weymouth (GB), where 260 racers from 24 different countries came together to compete. The selection of the 6.8 and 7.8 One Design rigs as official rigs for this Class is a great boost to the growth of the Class.
With the Core boards, the 133, 148, 160D and 293D, BIC Windsurf has made the Techno models available and affordable to all.
The Techno range offers, as ever, exciting freeride boards, made for those looking for well-equipped, fast and manoeuvrable boards. At the latest Techno Garmin Runs, a speed of 36.10 knots was registered on a Techno 133, which shows the huge potential of the newest board in this range.
The Techno Pro range makes an ideal quiver for riding with top quality equipment inall kinds of conditions and the Jungle provides the answer with GUARANTEED water time for the whole family!
We hope that you enjoy windsurfing with BIC Sport. Happy Sailing!
High-Performance shapes durable & light construction
Our state of the art technology (ASA composite thermoforming with aluminium moulds) enables us to maximise all material used and thus reduce weight. The end result is a board that is both 20% lighter than other thermoformed boards and 30% more impact resistant compared to equivalent epoxy sandwich boards.
Our various technologies• CTS : for stiffness, lightweight and durability (Techno and One Design boards)• TS : Durability is the main goal (Core)• TS/EVA : TS technology with an integrated EVA deck in order to increase comfort (Nova165).
FinsThe fin is almost as important as the shape of a board as it is the driving force in the water. All CTS boards are fitted with top of the range Select fins that are moulded with pre-preg fabric, providing reliable high performance shapes from one fin to the next.

Over the last two decades, BIC Sport has made surfing a sport possible for tens of thousands of surfers by offering a range of quality boards at very reasonable prices. This is true as much in the design and shaping of the boards as in their construction. BIC Sport surfboards have been developed by big name shapers whose experience has ensured that the level of performance sought is indeed achieved. The boards are then all mass-produced in our factory using a unique machine tool which we constantly keep updating. Our brand new range, the E-Comp Gloss, with superb build and finish quality and unrivalled reliability, is a perfect example of these technical innovations.
BIC Sport surfboards suit riders of any skill level: from the pro rider looking for high performance, reliability and light weight, through to the complete beginner looking for stability, easy paddling and strength. Our range covers the needs of all types of surfers. With more than 20 years' experience, BIC Sport is the world's biggest solo brand manufacturer.
Most of the BIC Surf range is now equipped with the famous FCS fins which garantee high performance and universal compatibility.

Comparison BIC 245 versus V-hullAs soon as the weight is off-centre a V-Hull
becomes unstable and dangerous, unlike the catamaran shape hull of the BIC 245, which
provides high stability and prevents capsizing.

The catamaran hull gives the best possible stability. The integrated wide rollers allow easy handling over beaches, banks and jetties.
Clever details : the rowing seat is fitted with “glove compartments”, the flat rear design is designed for safe upright storage and the cockpit float line is below the level of the floor, allowing the cockpit to self-empty.
The various carry handles make the boat easy to carry for one or more people. It weighs in at just 39 kg, making it easy to load onto a roof rack.
