BIDW Implementation for OMAN AIR

Challenge:

To implement a centralized data model and reporting for giving clarity on flight operations, Ground Handling & Revenue brought by them by Region and POS to increase their air traffic across globe and ground support for other Airlines in Muscat. Currently each department is having their own reporting – matching and integrating them for decision support is difficult as data parsing used to be done once in a month/Week with proration calculations to get the exact number

Solution:

Implemented a centralized Data Mart to integrate the data from IATA,SITA, internal Air Messages, Ground Handling data & MSSQL database’s to support a common reporting across the departments by Regions is implemented with the help of ODI & OBIEE along with proper security restrictions.

Challenge:

As a Real estate service provider already having more than 200 communities build faced a challenge of maintaining them properly, because lack of proper information inflow from different community which lead the organization to face some loss to keep the apartments vacant / without providing proper services. They are in need of a common interface to see the happenings in each community

Solution:

Using ODI & OBIEE – the data from different community are integrated and provided a single click reports to have the better understanding of happenings in each community by Occupancy reporting / Operation reporting which lead to the proper appreciation of employees to increase their commitment in work.

BIDW Report for Synaptics

Challenge:

Synaptics provides the broadest touch solutions portfolio in the industry. Their Business area which covers Forecasting and Billing for which we are supporting in proving better performance through mapping & reporting . This migration project from OWB to Informatica is to get a better performance with reduced Mapping. OWB is used to populate data from the Oracle Apps to the BI Database.

Solution:

Using Informatica & OBIEE – The Mappings are analyzed and appropriately redesigned to reduce the mapping from 41 to 19.Based on the new model, reporting is recreated as same as the available reports using the Current Data Mart. Reduced the no of mappings by combining three different flow logics, to implement it as a single mapping in the new data model.

Shutterfly APMFA Implementation

Challenge:

To create a Custom reports in fixed Assets as per business requirements.

Source data refreshed based on DB user login sessions. Pull the historical data from source to Warehouse tables.

Solution: Develop a ETL Schema to meet up all the business requirements. Star schema diagram to meet up all scenarios to meet ETL code to load

into single star schema provides the full BI solutions for the existing system to the client.

Designed and developed the solution (Dimensional modelling, ETL Development, Repository design, Reports and Dashboard design).

BIDW Support Challenge:

To implement Analytical reporting for giving visibility to the Account Managers, Regional Managers and others on the Bookings, Revenue brought by them and also views their Commission payment information computed by the Oracle Incentive compensation system.

Solution:

Implemented an integrated reporting with the help of OBIEE & Informatica to give the visibility of the revenue across regions, by particular sales persons, Account Managers, Regional Managers along with the appropriate security restrictions.

Migration of ETL Code from OWB to InformaticaChallenge:

OWB had limitation of changing data sources very easily from one environment to the other one. OWB was not proving to be so intuitive and effort efficient like Informatica. There were no possibilities to get the data from heterogeneous data systems. A number of unused mappings and transformations were making the scheduled data load a bulky process to continue and manage. Data mart and data load processes were not designed aiming at usage of DW best practices.

Solution:

Informatica being one of the strategical data transformation tool for Synaptics it was always a goal to bring all the data management processes to the common platform of ETL and data migration technology.

Benefits:

70% improvement in performance

Streamlined the process by removing40% of unused data mart tables

Increased the ROI from 85% to96%

Implementation of SCM BI Apps Challenge:

Synaptics needs more insight of their Supplies and Inventory details to make their capacity requirement and their Inventory projection of actual sales to their projected inventory

Solution:

Implemented Oracle BIAPPS for SCM and Customized the SCM Tables as per the ERP customization. Created reports for projected inventory to their actual sales and calculate the capacity requirement for coming quarters /Months to make capacity available.

Data validation and analysis of existing data model.

ETL mapping and workflow to load dimension tables.

Based on the new model RPD is recreated to suit the reporting requirements.

New data model and ETL process will ensure better performance of ETL and reports.

POC of Burger Paints on Tableau Challenge:

Burger Paints is looking for Departmental Reports for the Financial Reports to monitor the Cash flows

Solution:

Created POC Reports to show the reports and look and feel of the GUI of Tableau. The Reports will have the Cash flow details of each department and AP and AR Due Reports.

MIGRATION TO DEMANTRAChallenge:

Synaptics Recently changed their forecasting platform from Oracle Demand Planner to Demantra. Demantra BI project is not only limited to shifting the source data platform. This project hands over the power of intelligence to business users ensuring least point of failures and automated alert mechanism to identify the failures. This project evicts dependency on many intermediate dependencies.

Solution:

We redesigned overused and oversized fact tables to aggregate tables to ensure the better performance. Reused instead of recreating objects and keeping our solution agile and a cost effective affair in terms of database and file systems.

Demantra BI was a chance to bring in all the best practices into place like using proper levels of dimension hierarchies. Defining the logical and physical model such a way that star schemas are used instead of snowflake as much as possible.

Shutterfly management team for seeking answers that bestows their operational and business decision.FA Assets solutions delivered a number of summary and detailed reports pertaining to different areas of Fixed Assets. Instead of relying on manual calculations and legacy reports Planning team can rely on BI reports and their loading and capacity calls are derived from system calculated, logically driven metrics and KPIs.

Solution:

Solution provides the report functionality across Fixed Asset Summary, CIP and Capitalized reports. This solution delivers almost 15 reports spread across all these business areas in the form of summary detailed representation of data. This project has introduced a seamless platform where users can perform all the data analysis for Asset Distribution, Retirement details of each assets.

We would like to recruit another 25 to 50 employees for this year.

We have also plans to recruit another 40 to 50 employees in the coming year based on the requirement visa-a-vis the projects we are going to get.
