“Motivation is what gets youstarted…

Habit is what keeps you going” said JimRyun, an American Athlete. It got me thinking that many of uswho have set our goals and wishes at the beginning of the yearmay be finding that now the summer is upon us, and willpower islowering as we think of slipping into Autumn, that those things wefervently set out to achieve in January may be sliding from ourgrasp.

And perhaps the reason is that we either weren’t committed todoing what we decided all those months ago, or we didn’t get intothe HABIT of making that thing happen. Indeed a decision wemade last year as a couple was to incorporate a fresh juice intoour diet, at least once daily. We enjoyed blending fresh kale fromthe garden, including thick broccoli stems which would ordinarilyend up on the compost, various fruit and other vegetables andchucking in copious amounts of ginger which sent Sean's hayfeverpacking (an unexpected, but very welcome result!).

With the cleaning of the blenders and juicers, and the extra bit oforganisation needed to make these each day it would have beeneasy to stop eventually. But once it became a habit it’s tough tobreak. So even when we have days out we make sure that we getour juice and do you know, if you look out for them there are juicebars popping up everywhere. So we grabbed one recently in HydePark at a festival, in a little street in Ibiza on a holiday and even thekids join in now, despite what can seem avery dubious mix sometimes!

If there’s something you want to do, oryour resolve has slipped, get started againand we’ll hear no more excuses!

Much love until next monthCoralie and Sean x

Auto biographies

In 1982 Mitsubishi MotorsCorporation launched a brand newbreed of vehicle: a 4x4 which wastough enough to go where othersfeared to tread, yet enjoyed the sortof sophisticated specification morenormally associated with top endsaloons. More than thirty years laterthe Shogun is a living legend.

The 2015 Mitsubishi Shogun has abold new front end, distinguished bya deeper more integrated grille andchic LED daytime running lights. Thedesign changes for this yearrepresent a progressive evolution ofthe hard-hitting Japanese off-roader.

Naturally, the Mitsubishikeeps its go-anywhere, self-assured and powerfully builtpresence. This ischaracterised by its shortfront overhang, uprightwindscreen, strong highflanks, flared wheel-archesand rear-mounted sparewheel. These are all keyShogun styling cues thatunderline its mud-pluggingaptitude.

Indeed, standing next to theShogun makes you feel prettysmall. The vehicle isenormous and looks ratherintimidating to drive. Butonce you haul yourself intothe cabin, turn the key, select‘Drive’ from the automaticgearbox and get rolling, anyunease evaporates.

By no means is the brutealways a delight to drive onthe road though. Sure, it’seasy to point the Shogundown a motorway and staythere, but any cross winds doknock you about a bit. That’sno surprise as it’s a tallvehicle – and because of that

you can also forget tearing aroundbends on country roads, unless youlike lots of lean.

Instead, the new Mitsubishi Shogunis about muscle and ruggedness. Thetop of the range Long Wheel Base(LWB) SG4 model, on test here, pullslike a train with its 3.2-litre,194bhp,four-cylinder diesel engine.0-62mph arrives in 11.1 seconds andtop speed is 112mph. Moreimportantly it has low-ratio gearingand a differential lock to make sureyou’ve got the best chance ofgetting it out of even the mostchallenging of non-tarmacsituations.

The Mitsubishi Shogun is not only agiant of a 4x4, its cabin feels solidlyscrewed together and comescrammed with luxury features. Aswell as improved sound deadening,SG4 trim brings leather seats,Bluetooth, a tyre pressuremonitoring system and a five-speedautomatic gearbox.

Staying inside the cabin of theShogun, its multifunction display hasreams of information available. Thisincludes a barometer and analtitude gauge, indicating that this isa vehicle that has motoring abilitystretching way beyond a farmer’sfield.

The seats are comfortable andsupportive, and the large glass areaprovides first rate views of the roador rugged ground around you. Rearseat space is colossal, and loadcapacity seems immeasurably big.

A third row of seats can be poppedup too, turning the Shogun into aseven-seater. This is convenient ifyou’re taking a group of friends intothe rough or you’ve got a posse ofchildren you need to drop off atschool.

Away from the much commentedluxury soft-roaders, heavy-dutyworkhorses such as the Shogun havecarved out a unique niche in themarket where ability anddependability matter first andforemost.

Since a price decrease in July 2013Shogun sales have gone fromstrength to strength. With its newdesign and improved specification, the Mitsubishi Shogun now offerseven better value for money.

Over the Hedge

Mike has been living in Pimpernel Close, Locks Heath for the last seven years. He loves the garden, particularly because it was his wife’s favourite

occupation until she sadly passed away in late 2013 of Myeloma Cancer. Mikesays he tries to keep it up to her standard but he’s not sure he quite hits themark. Having said that, he’s happy for you all to peep over his hedge as it’s

blooming very well right now.We feel sure your wife would be very proud of you Mike x

There is much excitement at LocksHeath Infant School as the buildingwork that started last October is nearlycompleted. This is part of a jointbuilding project with Morgan Sindallcarrying out major developments onthe Junior School site too.

Earlier this year, Mrs Cullum and MissBurden, the Co-Headteachers, metwith the school’s ‘Helping Hands’ toget their ideas on what they thinkshould go into a Time Capsule. Sincethen the school has been busycollecting lots of things. Inside arenewspapers, photos, building workplans, school uniform and much, muchmore!

Year 2 children have written postcardsto the children of the future and thesealso went in to the Time Capsule. Thechildren have told them about life in2015 and what they think life will belike in the future. Marcus in Class 10

wrote: “When you read this I will be agrown up and I will probably be in thearmed forces or a wildlife producer!”The children had some weird andwonderful ideas about what the futurewould hold.Rylee from Early Years, Milliefrom Year 1 and Max fromYear 2 helped pack the thingsin and are pictured with theTime Capsule just before it

was buried. The Time Capsule ismarked with a plaque so that futuregenerations can easily uncover the‘treasures’ in years to come.

KID’S PAGE

Does your PC seem slow? Maybe evennoisy? Well these could be a couple ofmany signs that suggest the hard drivecould be at the end of its life. If you’rerunning Windows 7 or higher werecommend changing the hard drive for asolid state drive (SSD).

This is a drive that uses flash memory as ameans of storing and accessing data, much like computer RAM but still behavesin the same way a Hard Drive does. Unlikeother storage devices such as the originalhard drive in your PC, an SSD has nomoving parts, which gives it advantagessuch as; accessing stored informationMUCH faster, produces no noise, oftenmuch more reliable, and consumes muchless power than the traditional hard drive

(HDD) found in computers.

This upgrade will significantly increase thespeed of your PC even from when it wasnew.

Assuming your PC is still working we canclone the original drive onto the SSD sothe computer will be exactly as it is now, just much faster (can deliver speeds of upto 100 times faster than a hard drive) andmore reliable. If you would like moreinformation on SSD drives or would like toupgrade your PC please call us and wearrange this for you.

Windows 10 will be here sooner than firstexpected. Microsoft have said it will beavailable on July 29th as a free upgrade for

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. If youare running any of these two operatingsystems and haven’t already noticed, takea look in the bottom right and you shouldsee a windows symbol, click on this to‘reserve your free upgrade’.

However not all is good, Microsoft haveannounced that you will say goodbye toWindows 7 gadgets, Windows mediacenter and Hearts (card game). AlsoWindows 10 won’t be able to play DVD’sand so will require a separate softwarepackage, like VLC Player.
