Purpose
We have come from J‐PAL South Asia at IFMR in Patna. We are conducting a survey to collect
information on the manner in which the NREGA functions in your Panchayat. We are conducting
similar surveys across 12 districts in the State. You are being invited to participate in our survey.
Procedures
We would like to speak with an adult in this household that is knowledgeable of financial and other
major household decisions. This could be the head of the household, his/her spouse, or another
adult in the household.
The interview will take about 30 minutes. After this, we will conduct some health tests for your
household members.
Risks and Benefits
You will not receive any direct benefit from the interview, nor will you be penalized in any way for
refusing. We hope to use this information to understand the way the NREGA functions in Bihar.
Voluntary Participation & Confidentiality
This interview is completely voluntary. You can choose not to answer any question and to stop the
interview at any point. The information you share with us will be kept confidential. Only those
involved in conducting this study will have access to the information you provide and data will be
stored securely.
