German manufacturing and engineering at its best

Redtoys have their entire design and production process in Germany, and it shows. The mouldings are smooth and accurate, parts are consistent in quality throughout production runs. The parts that are “off the shelf” are the best quality too, these include tyres, bearings and hardware like bolts and screws.

The attention to detail in the components results in a range of balance bikes that are able to take the hard life that small children will give them. The Chopper range is moulded from fibre reinforced plastic resulting in parts that are extremely durable, completely weather proof and resistant to the knocks and abrasions of everyday play outside.

The pictures above show a close up of the drum brake and cable operation, the tread pattern on the pneumatic tyre, the seat hight adjustment knob and the brake lever & rubber hand grip.

Available in 5 solid colours shown here, Green, Blue, Orange, Pink and Red. There are 3 choices of tyre style, EVA, PU and standard pneumatic (air filled). Each colour and tyre style can be supplied with or without a brake, which is lever operated like a normal bicycle brake.

Assembly is very easy, requiring two allen keys, both are supplied in the box. Seat adjustment needs no tools.

There is almost no maintenance, a periodic check of the allen bolts to ensure they are secure, and if the bike has a brake, a drop of oil to the cable is all that is needed.

Traditional Style Wooden Balance bike, German knowhow

The Scout. Entirely made in Germany to a high standard of both engineering and finish quality. Styles are Fire Engine (shown), Wolf and Motobike. The range will be in stock Spring 2013. Again, choice of materials and attention to detail in the manufacturing process make this range really stand out. At the time of writing, it is the ONLY wooden balance bike available with a brake!

Introducing The Incredibly Small TinyBike Balancebike

A small, steel framed bike with wide wheel to help the balancing process. We have found that very young children can manage this bike and learn to balance quickly.

The bike follows the standard balance bike principle, this one is manufactured in China, made from steel and good quality plastics and composite materials. Available in 9 colours (to date), comes complete with tools and is easy to assemble.

Minimum order quantity (MOQ) for TinyBike is 6, but can be mixed colours.

Italtrike : Italian design flair for small people

Walk & Bike, shown above, is manufactured by Italtrike in their factory in northern Italy. The frame is steel with brightly coloured wheels and components in plastic. Walk & Bike is part of the ABC range, which consists of trikes and scooters as well as this balance bike.

Below is a very different design, manufactured in China the Bi&Ci is a bright red, mostly plastic bike with a racing theme. This has the appearance of a normal balance bike but with a twist. A nice comfy padded 7 position seat and handlebars and best of all something we haven’t seen before - hand protectors. Its hard to see on the image but the handles curve round to protect your child’s hands, just in case of those little bumps.

Italtrike also have an all aluminium balance bike which has been tagged “coming soon”. We have seen the prototype of this bike , currently its silver coloured and looks very high tech. More information and pricing guide will come from the brand owner in due course.
