January 18th, 2015 Second Sunday in Ordinary Time “What are you looking for?”

Those first words of Jesus in the Gospel according to John function as both invitation and a challenge – to the disciples and to us. They set the stage for one of the main ways that John defines discipleship. True disciples are those who bring others to Christ to see and believe the revelation that Jesus is “the word made flesh” (John 1:14). Like Samuel in the First Reading and the disciples here in the Gospel, we must decide how to respond.
