CGS Labs Civil Solutions 2021.2

The 2021.2 release of CGS Labs solutions delivers the support for the latest BricsCAD V21 version released in late 2020.

The minimal required BricsCAD V21 installation to run CGS Labs Civil Solutions 2021.2 on is BricsCAD 21.1.06 (NEW). Contact our technical support team for details or additional explanation needed.

1.1. CAD platforms supported

CGS Labs Civil Solutions 2021.2 version brings the same set of features on the following CAD versions:

AutoCAD / Civil 3D 2021 / 2020 / 2019 / 2018 / 2017 / 2016

BricsCAD V21 (NEW) / V20 / V19 / V18

1.2. Software version updating and Licensing

Licenses with subscription/maintenance program will allow automatic software update via About/Update dialog in CGS Labs ribbon tab. The license for CGS Labs Civil Solutions 2021.2 version was revised to 2021.2 (NEW) meaning older licenses will not work on 2021.2 version.

1.3. Documentation

Help documentation for Autopath and Autosign is updated with further enhancements leading UI Help buttons to open dedicated pages in help file.

Video content (NEW) is now included in command descriptions enabling users to quickly overview features and design possibilities.

Autosign Professional and Ultimate

2.1. Parking lot design

Parking Lot (NEW) design feature is now part of Autosign package. The parking lot design feature enables parametric parking lots design with the support for various country specific parking lot design parameters. Number of different line marking types from single, double, dotted line, line colour options, line width options and more can be assigned to parking lot lines. Topping the feature with parking lot report option created as drawing tables or exported to Excel sheet directly.

Within Autosign Ultimate, designed parking lot lines can be projected to road or any other surfaces resulting in full 3D parking lot lines created, with possible BIM properties assigned to them.

Pair the new parking lot design capabilities with all other available Autosign features like: Google Maps import, export to Google Earth, Property Sets definition, Properties editing capabilities, Property filtering and Clash detection options, IFC Export & Import feature. In addition: Gantry design features to design a true 3D parking lot entrance height delimiter to restrict caravans, bus and other vehicles entering the dedicated parking zone, traffic signs 2D/3D design, other road marking (walkways, islands and others).

All together making Autosign 2021.2 more complete solution as ever.

2.2. Traffic sign libraries.

CGS Labs continues to provide regular updates to country specific traffic signs libraries added and posting new ones. With the current 2021.2 release, a new library is available to download within Autosign Professional and Ultimate package:

3.1. New national vehicle libraries

NEW Autopath vehicle libraries (NEW) added to Autopath 2021.2 release:

3.2. Updated airplane libraries

4.1. Support for BricsCAD surface V21

CGS Labs 2021.2 supports BricsCAD surface, which gives users possibility to create infrastructure objects Profile and Cross Section Views with no need of converting data to other DMR type.

CGS Labs Civil Solution project alignments to number of digital terrain types available in drawing:

• CGS Labs digital terrain model • 3D Face surface • CGS Labs surface defined by CGS Labs points (survey points inserted) • Civil 3D surface • BricsCAD surface

4.2. Property Sets definition

Property Sets and attributers added to 3D solid and other objects in drawing are fully editable. Previous versions of CGS Labs Civil solutions allowed editing of User Defined types of attributes added to default Property set (CGS) only. Now every data if fully editable: Alignment, Material name, Code, Stationing info and Volume allow custom values insertion or changing of existing values.

4.3. Property Set Filter

Property Set Filter enhancements enable users to search between different Property Set definitions and attributes defined allowing users to perform detailed analysis within the drawing before exporting data to external data analysis software solutions.

4.4. Clash Detection

Same goes with Clash Analysis feature available in CGS Labs Civil Solutions where clash queries can be performed by material attribute assigned to objects. For example: Clash between concrete objects vs PVC (plastic) objects can be performed instantly, with Clash detection list and Zoom to clash further optimized.

4.5. Profile labels

Additional options added to 21O1, 2102, 2103 commands

Extensive labelling options have been added to Profile Labels in Layout, which provide easier labels localisation definition. Labels position settings (top, left, right), prefixes, scale, font, text and layer colour and more are now part of extensive Profile labelling option.

Different set of settings for road (Plateia) and rail (Ferrovia) alignments are available since setting table consist of two separate sets of labels definition.

These settings are stored in VertAlignmentLabelsSettings.xml file located in users local “appdata” folder e.g.: C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Roaming\CGSA\CGSApps 2021 *ENG*

Solved issues | Plateia, Ferrovia, Aquaterra, Electra

5.1. Common CGS Labs issues:

• Predefined layer colours issue solved – Edit Materials While changing material layer colours issues occurred in terms of wrong colour displayed or black colour used instead us user defined colour definition. This issue is solved in CGS Labs 2021.2 version.

• CGSA 3D model creation work on unlimited number of materials defined Until this release, the 3D model creation was limited to up to 9 different materials defined in Cross-Sections View. Now the number of materials defined in not limited any more.

5.2. BricsCAD related issues:

Bellow a list of issues solved corresponds to BricsCAD platforms. CGS Labs Civil Solutions used on AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D have no such issues. • 41D1, Adding bands (text rubrics) to Cross Sections in BCAD is now supported • 41I7, Convert Polyline to TCS Element • 11E5, Change point type now supported • 31V82, Label Slope – the command does not alter OSNAP setting any more • 41I2, Extend substructure in both directions now enabled

5.3. Aquaterra related issues:

• 43F2, Insert adjacent river canal to main canal CS Views now supported • 33L6, Label points in profile view
