Approximately 30%-40% of full-time MBA students at BiMBA are from different parts of the world for whom the most valuable part of their studies is value added through in-depth understanding of China. BiMBA has developed unique and innovative “Understand China” courses, networking activities and career services for international students to familiarize them with the Chinese business environment and China’s competitiveness in global business environment, which significantly enhances their market value.

Summer Program This is a 360° experience encompassing Chinese history and culture and comprising various learning activities like lectures, on-site classes, sight-seeing tours to five featured cities in China and opportunities for networking with MBA/EMBA alumni.

Chinese Language Courses Some degree of proficiency in Chinese language is a “must-have” skill even if you are not planning to work in China after graduation. Nowadays knowing Chinese is a huge plus for those who aspire to work in multinational companies in any part of the world. Therefore, BiMBA, collaborating with local professional language schools, offers students tailor-made Chinese language training programs before and through their MBA study in China.

Business in China Lectures These lectures and courses provide understanding of China as a country and help students grasp multi-dimensional sensibilities related to Chinese business environment and practices. Topics cover macro-economy and business environment in China, historical and cultural factors that influence people’s mindsets and business behaviors, marketing practices unique to China and introduction to China’s political system.

Welcome Happy Hour This event facilitates the first close contact with future classmates and alumni before the school starts. Networking Full-time students will have access to a large network of some of the most capable professionals in China who are pursuing part-time MBA at BiMBA. Company Visits A series of company visits with lectures by host company’s executives are organized during the program to help you better understand ways of doing business in China. In-company Consultancy Project (ICP) The ICP constitutes the important final stage of the MBA program. It enables students to integrate themselves in a real business environment and apply the knowledge, skills and experience they have acquired during MBA. By doing the project, the students can learn to work against deadlines, write management reports and make professional presentations. The quality and applicability of the project are assessed by a jury of both academics and business professionals.

Beyond MBA: US Master Degree Program in Global Finance

08 BiMBA aims to nurture inspirational leaders, not just to train competent managers. Therefore, we have developed several forum/lecture series to enable students to meet and interact with world famous economic, political and business gurus. Lectures of China’s macro-economic and financial issues particularly improve students’ ability to “think big”.

Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF), supported by a $1 million grant from the NASDAQ OMX Educational Foundation, is a jointly administered program by BiMBA at Peking University and Fordham University in New York (ranked 14 th among the Best Business Schools in Finance Specialty by the U.S. News and World Report in 2011). MSGF will serve students who have earned an MBA and want to gain a specialization in finance. To complete the degree, students need to take four courses in Peking University and two on location in New York with a series of lectures and company visits. Program fees of MSGF are USD 13500 (in 2011) plus travel and living costs.
