Sergei Yesenin (21.09.1895 — 28.12.1925)

Sergey Yesenin was born on 3 October 1895 in the Ryazan Province. Sergei Еsenin is a great poet-lyricist. Yesenin was the best poet of his time. The height of Sergei Yesenin was 168 centimetres. The first Yesenin’s book was published in 1916. It was called ‘Radunitsa’.His grandparents raised Sergei Esenin. From 1904 to 1909, Esenin studied in Konstantinovsky rural school, then enrolled in a parochial school teacher in Spas-Klepiki. In 1912 he moved to Moscow and found a job. At first Yesenin worked in a bookshop and then in the printing workshop. A year later he entered Moscow State University and attended it for eighteen months.

His famous character was ‘Pugachev’ in ‘Yemelyan Pugachev’. Emelian Pugachev, a don Cossack, was the leader of Peasant war. In the poem ‘Shagane, you my ‘Shagane’ the main character is an ordinary teacher, Shagane Talan.

My favorite character is the Armenian teacher and the heroine of the poem ‘Shagane,you my Shagane’.Shagane is an ordinary girl from the Caucasus. Shagane works as teacher in a regular school. However, Yesenin conveyed her feelings so beautifully, believable and ironic.
