Methods General Daily Routine• Workout Location: Tae Kwon
Do Academy in Puyallup WA.
• Subjects: 14 total volunteers.
• Workout duration: 60 minutes for a 5 day period.
• Hydration: First week-water consumption and the second week, Gatorade consumption.•
• Participants are required to consumed the given beverage.
• Then be weighed • Workout for a 60 minute
period. • At the end of the class, weigh
once more.• Difference in weight will
determine sweat loss.

Methods
Separate fish randomly in to 3 tanks (each tank with 20 fish)↓
Let fish acclimate to new tank for one day ↓
Weigh food before feeding to the fish. ↓
1 g Feed every 12 hrs for 5 consecutive days↓
Clean the tanks every 24 hrs before feeding them again.↓
Collect unnecessary food and fecal material.

Hypothesis• Those with acrylic nails
will harbor more bacteria underneath their nails than females with native nails (unwashed and washed).

Research Goal
The goal of this project was to ascertain the anti-microbial
power of common varieties of chewing gum. The two varieties tested were Orbit (cinnamon)
that is distributed by Wrigley Co. and Trident (original).

Oral hygiene habits and oral bacterial populations
A comparison of Lactobacillus and Streptococcus bacteria

Dr. Olney
Dr. Hartman
Hypothesis
• Excessive oral hygiene habits will decrease populations of Lactobacillus bacteria (Tomato juice broth pH 4) more drastically than Streptococcus bacteria (Brain-Heart infusion {BHI} broth pH 6.5).
• Factors- hygiene, bacterial growth, and interaction.

Chagas Disease
Sara Trejo
Dr. Margaret Olney and Dr. Mary Jo Hartman
Saint Martin’s University 2006
Hypothesis Statement• Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) can be developed for use as a
specific and sensitive diagnostic tool for Chagas Disease.
• First step towards development is the evaluation of PCR primer sets for specificity and sensitivity.

Range of Motion
• Range of Motion (ROM) is the complete movement of the joint through flexion and extension.
• Normal ROM: extension, 0 degrees and flexion is 135 degrees.
