BIO 614 examines current topics in the field of human and medical genetics. Topics and activities change from each offering due to the rapid advances in the field of genetics. Instruction by genetics professionals will provide accurate interpretation of these topics and serve to clarify much of the public media’s information. e course requires the completion of online didactic instruction and a concluding interactive two-day laboratory workshop on the GGC campus in Greenwood. Teachers can choose to attend the June 25-26 or June 28-29 workshop. Course materials will be available via Lander University’s Blackboard. Participants are responsible for accessing the material and meeting all assignment deadlines. Biology 614 carries three graduate credit hours that may be applied to teacher re-certification and graduate degree programs.
