--Endoplasmic Reticulum--

As the endoplasmic reticulum you help to fold, assemble and package proteins by working with

ribosomes, and also with lipid production.

--Ribosome--As the ribosome you bond the amino acids together to form all of the cell’s necessary

proteins.

--Golgi Body--As the golgi body you sort, package and ship all molecules made in the cell out. You are sort of

like the UPS of the cell .

--Mitochondrion--As the mitochondrion you complete cellular respiration. During this process you convert

sugar and oxygen into water, carbon dioxide and ATP.

--Cell Membrane--As the cell membrane you regulate all materials

as they enter and exit the cell.

--Lysosome--As the lysosome you engulf and digest any

useless cell parts and toxins.

--Peroxisome--As the peroxisome you break down harmful

hydrogen peroxide within animal cells.

--Chloroplast--As the chloroplast you do photosynthesis for

plant cells. During photosynthesis you convert

sunlight, carbon dioxide and water, into sugar and oxygen gas!

--Cell Wall--

As the cell wall you are made of extremely tough cellulose, necessary to give plant cells extra

strength—protection—and structure.

--Enlarged Vacuole--

As the enlarged vacuole you store extra water so that plant cells can do photosynthesis, but also to provide additional structure from within the

plant cell.

You have been assigned to:- Create a piece of propaganda to promote your organelle.- Make the community aware of how important your organelle is

and all that it does for its citizens.

You must:- Create a colorful and organized campaign poster.- Make sure to note that this is for Mayor of Cellville (Fall 2013).- Make sure the organelle’s name is large, clear, and easy to read.- Draw a picture of your organelle so the citizens will recognize them.- List out their function/s (this should also be as large as possible, clear, and easy to read).- Present to the class:
