GREAT WHITE SHARK

• Scientific Name: Carcharodon carcharias

• Have a sixth sense called the Ampullae of Lorenzini•Allows them to detect electrical fields in the water•Shark has a biting force of 18,000 newtons•Uses vertical approach style to catch seals • Vertical approach: Jump out of the water and grab their prey•When attacking human they use horizontal approach •Horizontal approach: Stealthily move under the human and bite the side of them •Marine animal, lives all over the globe • Eats seals, tuna, turtles.

Scientific Name: Ursus maritimus

Polar Bear

• Lives in the Tundra of Arctic Circle• Can swim for hours •Largest terrestrial carnivore (2.4-3m) • Diet consists of seals, but mature bears tend to eat blubber•Unlike other bears, they are not territorial•Rarely live beyond 25 years•Male polar bears will eat other cubs if they come near them • Has black skin, but white fur

INLAND TAIPAN• Scientific name: Oxyuranus microlepidotus

• Lives in the deserts of Australia • Is dark tan, dark hue to a brownish light-green, depending on season. tail may brown or grey, with scales that have blackish edge• Consumes: rodents, small mammals and birds• Venom mostly consists of neurotoxins • 1.8-2.5m long• Although this snake is the most toxic in the world there had been no fatalities.

SPOTTED HYENASScientific name: Crocuta crocuta

• They work on groups in order to catch their prey.• Eat anything form lion cubs to bones of a decaying elephant.• Live in the grasslands of Africa• Largest of the 3 hyena species•Live up to 25 years•Head to body: 86-150 cm long•Tail: 25-36 cm long•Good hearing, smell and eyesight• Can run for long distance without tiring• Packs corner a herd of animals

TOUCAN

• Brightly marked and often have large colorful bills•Weigh up to 130g and grow to 29 cm. • Live in the rainforest of South America•Usually eat fruits •Sometimes eat lizards or insects•Plunder nest, take eggs and nestlings•Tongue is up to 15 cm long•Make nests in tree hollows
