Purpose
The purpose of this document is to demonstrate how to configure the V-Flex 4G XSF and W26 fingerprint and card readers with the L-1 Identity Solutions Secure AdminTM software for EntraPass.
Important
This equipment shall be installed by Service Persons only (a Service Person is defined as a person having the appropriate technical training and experience necessary to be aware of hazards to which that person may be exposed in performing a task and can also take measures to minimize the risks to that person or other persons). The equipment shall be installed and used within an environment that provides the pollution degree max 2, overvoltages category II, in non-hazardous, indoor locations only. This manual shall be used with the Installation Manual of the KT-300 controller to which it is connected. All instructions specified within this manual must be observed.
It is the responsibility of the installer to instruct the system user in regard to the electrical safety precautions when using a system which includes this equipment and also in regards to each of the following:
Do not attempt to service this product. Opening or removing covers may expose the user to dangerous voltages or other risks.
Any servicing shall be referred to service persons only.
Use authorized accessories only with this equipment.
Note: In regards to the environmental conditions, please refer to the L-1 Identity Solutions Bioscrypt Quick Start Guide.
Requirements
Computer running on any Windows versions with available USB ports
All EntraPass application versions
In the V-Flex 4G package you will find:
o 1 V-Flex 4G fingerprint and card reader o Bioscrypt CD-ROM for USB drivers, Secure AdminTM software and documentation o Micro-USB to USB-A cable o 2-pin or 3-pin power cable o External 28-pin signal cable o Quick Start Guide

1. Mounting the V-Flex 4G Reader
Mount the V-Flex 4G reader as described in the Bioscrypt Installation Guide.
2. Installing the Secure AdminTM Software
Install the Secure AdminTM Software as described in the Bioscrypt Quick Start Guide.
3. Installing the V-Flex 4G Reader
Install the V-Flex 4G reader as described in the Bioscrypt Quick Start Guide.

Note: The V-Flex reader is configured by default for fingerprint and card reader. To change default settings, please refer to the Secure AdminTM software in the Device Settings option.
1. From the Windows Start button, go to Programs > Bioscrypt > Secure Admin Client > Secure Admin to start the Secure AdminTM software.
2. Click the Network > Register via Server button. The Register via Server dialog box will

3. For Ethernet, select Search Automatically. For USB/Com port, select the appropriate port number.
4. Click the Scan button. Secure AdminTM will scan the network for installed devices and display a list.
5. From the list, click the icon of the device you want to register. The Register Device dialog box will display.
6. Click Register. The Device Summary dialog box will display.
7. Click Device Settings > Device Network > Default Group > and then click the Select your V-Flex 4G button.
8. Under the Biometrics tab, select Verify in the Device Mode section. See Figure 1.

9. Click Yes and then Apply.
10. Under the Wiegand tab, select Kantech-XSF or 26-Bit-pass-thru as the pass-thru format. See Figure 2.

11. Click Apply.
12. Click OK.
13. Go to the Enrollment menu and select Fingerprint Quick Enrollment. See Figure 3.

14. Select From Wiegand String and pass a card near the V-Flex 4G reader. The card number should display in the Template ID field.
15. Click Enroll and place one finger on the VeriProx reader. Repeat until you get as many stars as possible for quality and content.
16. Click Next. The User Information should display. See Figure 4.

17. In the Finger Data section, select the same finger/hand you used at step 15.
18. Enter the cardholder name and click Save.
19. Click Next. The Broadcast Template dialog should display. See Figure 5.

20. Click Finish to save.
21. Repeat steps 13 to 20 for each card/fingerprint pair.
5. Configuring EntraPass for the V-Flex 4G Reader
1. From the EntraPass workstation, go to Devices > Controller.
2. Select the controller to which the V-Flex 4G reader is connected to.
3. Under the General tab:
If the V-Flex 4G reader is ... Then
VPRX-IO-XSF select IO Prox Kantech XSF Format
VPRX-IO-W26 select IO Prox Kantech 26 bits Wiegand
4. Click on the floppy icon to save. Click Close.
5. Go to Users > Card.

6. Enter each card description and its corresponding access level.
7. Click on the floppy icon to save. Click Close.
