Handling Wild birdsDoris Mager is a licensed bird handler and

rehabilitator. Many of the birds in her care have been taken from the wild due to human carelessness. These birds can not be released into the wild. not be released into the wild.

Please Note: “You must have a state and federal permit to lawfully acquire migratory bird specimens including bird parts, nest, and nonviable eggs.”

Doris and her screech owl. The owl has had part of its wing removed due to an accident involving humans. The owl now helps Doris educate

the public.

This bird is 35 years old and is the oldest know caracara in captivity.
