My name is Kelsey John, and I'M LOOKING TO TEACH, TUTOR, OR PROVIDE CHILDCARE, full-time or part-time. I have lots of experience with homeschooling and private schooling, and I hope to do one or both when I have kids someday. I was homeschooled up through 2nd grade, then I went to three different private schools, and I worked at my elementary school for a few summers. I have a Bachelor's degree from JMU in elementary education, and I spent the past two years as a special ed teacher's aide. Please contact me at [email protected].
FIRST SUNDAY SHARED MEAL- JULY: The Church will be providing PULLED BEEF BBQ on Sunday, July 3rd prepared by Jon Boyz. AUGUST: On Sunday, August 7th, we will be having South-ern Mississippi FRESH CATFISH FRY. Levi and Elmina Lee (Jay Miller's Uncle and Aunt) will be traveling here from Mississippi to fry fresh catfish and hush puppies. We will be eating outside on this First Sunday in the Ark playground area. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. We will also need a few people to bring tarter sauce. Cole slaw and baked beans also go great with catfish.
Hi, my name is Andrew Vinson from Highland County. I am interested in attending your church when I move to Harrisonburg in August to transfer to JMU. My cousin, Michael Felts, attends Covenant. I'm currently active in the children's ministry at Living Faith Church in Franklin, West Virginia. I am LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO LIVE in Harrisonburg. Would there be a possibility of a church member renting a room from their home or sharing an apartment with other JMU students? I'm looking forward to meeting new friends at Cove-nant. Thank you for your consideration. Andrew Vinson 540-468-2982
ROOM FOR RENT in Avalon Woods townhouse, available July 15. $675/month, includes utilities and internet. Walk-in closet, master bath, W/D, reserved parking. Must be ok with cats. Email [email protected].

Vacation Bible School
July 25th through 29th
SALEM’s summer Bible study
began on June 6th.
This year, Barbara Broome & Chandra Palmer
are team teaching from the book,
Side by Side.
This book was written out of a conviction that
friends are the best helpers
in the midst of difficult circumstances.
It's purpose is to equip believers
to share their burdens with one another and
watch as God uses ordinary relationships and
conversations to work in the lives of His people.
We meet on Monday evenings,
from 7-8:30 p.m.
Please call Bunnie Poyser, 383-9159, or
Marliese Poskitt, 801-0946,
for more information.
LANDSCAPING AT COVENANT
Our outside appearance is a worshiper’s first impression of Covenant.
It gives a glimpse of the warm welcome he or she will receive when entering our doors.
We still need helpers, so if your calling is to be part of this ministry, adopt an island!
During the growing season, you can be out in God’s creation on your own schedule:
Weed, weed, and weed some more!
Perfect for individuals, families, friend groups, home groups.

Small
Groups
Summer
2016
Small Groups are one of the primary avenues in the church for accomplishing our mission to equip disciples for kingdom growth and our vision to grow as a gospel-
centered church in our gathering, giving, and going locally and worldwide.
Small Groups provide an opportunity to gather and know others on a deeper level in the context of study,
prayer, mission, and worship.
If you have any questions about Small Groups, contact Greg Becker, Director of Small Groups and
Adult Discipleship, at 433-3051, [email protected].
During the summer, most of our home group leaders will be taking a break to spend time with family and for vacation. We do have one group that will continue to
meet throughout the summer.

GRIEF: FINDING HOPE AGAIN By Paul David Tripp No matter what the circumstances, death shakes us to the core. It seems so wrong, and it is! We long for comfort, but we don't know where to look. Can God really help when we are overwhelmed with grief? With compassion and biblical wisdom, Paul David Tripp shows us how to think and what to do when death enters our door. He reminds us that we have a Savior who knows our sorrows, hears our cries, and promises to one day wipe away all tears. Hope and healing come from our relation-ship with Jesus, the One who promises to walk all the way through the valley of the shadow of death with us. Author Bio Paul David Tripp, M.Div., D.Min., is the president of Paul Tripp Ministries and the Executive Director of the Center for Pastoral Life and Care in Fort Worth, Texas. He is the author of many articles, booklets, and books, in-cluding Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens; Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands; A Quest for More; Whiter Than Snow: Meditations on Sin and Mercy; and A Shelter in the Time of Storm: Meditations on God and Trouble; and the coauthor of How People Change and Relationships: A Mess Worth Making.
The Stephen Ministry offers booklets on a variety of topics that may concern you, a friend, or a loved one. The booklets are concise and don't require a lot of reading time, but give biblical help with specific areas of struggle. They are on dis-play at the Stephen Ministry table in the lobby. Please feel free to review the topics and see if any might be of help to you or to someone you know. You may keep them, or return them for use by someone else once you have finished.
