1. Introduction

Facilitated sessions of e.Roadmap Energy Management Assessment (EMA) take 50 – 70 minutes to complete

Online assessment (internet connection required)

Provides an immediate report that:

• Identifies customer’s current energy management practices

• Highlights customer’s next steps to continue to improve

• Compares customer’s practices against peers

• Supports an energy management program at customer’s site

Recommended that it be revisited regularly, typically once a year

2. Preparing for an EMA

1. Understanding the customer • Research energy usage profiles, past projects implemented,

business strategy and culture, corporate directives, likely energy intensive equipment and processes

2. Prepare an introduction presentation • Use the introduction slides or tailor as needed

3. Organize for appropriate customer representatives to attend

3. EMA process

• Introduce people and session

• Clearly explain how to respond to questions

= In place to day, consistently conducted across organization

= Implemented in some areas, or work in progress, or can be improved, or not in place today

• Walk customer through 12 topics (components)

• Within each topic, questions are organized in levels. Clicking on ‘Needs Improving’ for a question, sets level for the topic and moves to next topic

• Topics with low levels of development will influence the action item recommendations

5. Options for conducting sessions

1. Enter customer data prior to assessment (recommended) – Enter customer data and click ‘Save’ – At customer site retrieve saved session and conduct assessment – Retrieve report at customer site or at a later time

2. Conduct full session at customer site – Enter customer data, conduct assessment and provide report to

customer

3. Fill out and have customer complete – Enter customer data (using customer’s email address) and click

‘Save’ – Record password for session – Provide customer with link to assessment, email address used and

password for customer to complete self-assessment – Customer completes self-assessment on their own
