FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHEYENNE- Dog lovers and lovers of a good time are invited to enjoy a fun evening out on the town while benefiting a great cause.

Black Dog Animal Rescue will host the 4th annual Bark and Wine fundraising event from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 9 at the Cheyenne Depot Museum. The gala will include a buffet dinner, live music and a silent auction. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards BDAR’s efforts to provide services for Wyoming pets and pet owners.

“Our goal is to not only raise funds to support our non-profit programs, but to also bring more awareness to the community and the state about the mission of BDAR,” said Annie Wood, a member of BDAR’s Board of Directors. “We work across the state of Wyoming to provide services for shelter pets in need of a second chance.”

A ticket to the event will buy a buffet dinner catered by Morris House Bistro, accompanied by live music set in the historic Depot Museum. The highlight of the gala will be the silent auction, where guests are invited to bid generously on a large selection of items. A cash bar will also be available.

Bark and Wine is BDAR’s largest annual fundraising event. If the fundraising goal is met, the proceeds will account for nearly one-fifth of the money needed to run the organization annually.

Since 2008, BDAR has rescued more than 1,500 shelter dogs that would have otherwise been euthanized. The organization partners with municipal agencies, veterinarians and shelters across the state as well as with the public. It strives to create lasting relationships with the Wyoming community by bringing the plight of shelter pets and the rewards of adoption and volunteerism to the forefront of public discussion in our state.

“BDAR operates with a staff of just three and does the work of so many more,” Wood said. “The organization wouldn't be able to operate without its amazing volunteers who not only foster, but also run multiple programs.”

Anyone who supports Black Dog Animal Rescue and its life-saving work are invited to attend the event. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bdar.org. Single tickets are $35 or $65 for two. Online donations are also accepted.
