BlackBerry Tethering 

for Windows

 Tethering Instructions  

1. Open up Blackberry Desktop Software. Must be version 6.0 or later. 

a. If Blackberry Desktop Software has not already been installed on your PC, please install 

it from http://us.blackberry.com/apps‐software/desktop/ and open the software. 

2. Plug the USB cable into your BlackBerry and your PC. 

3. If your BlackBerry has never been cabled to the PC before, the New Hardware Wizard will pop up 

and advise that device/drivers are detected.  

a. Windows will automatically install drivers.   

b. When finished another popup in lower right hand corner should advise that the install 

was successful. 

4. Blackberry Desktop Software will show the phone’s software Information, pin, and phone number 

with a picture of the phone. 

5. Click the menu along the top of the window that says “Tools” and then select “Mobile Internet 

settings…” 

  

6. Click on the Add button and Fill in the information as follows: 

Profile Name: Cellcom 

User Name: <Mobile Number>@modem.cellcom3g.com 

Example: 9205551234@modem.cellcom3g.com 

Password: Uppercase HEX MEID of the phone 

  Example: A000001234ABCD 

 

 

 

 

  

7. Click OK and the Cellcom profile should now be selected in with the information filled in.   8. Click OK to return to the Desktop Software window. 9. Click the icon in the bottom left corner of the window that says “Mobile Internet” and the program 

will cycle through its connection process.  When the timer shows up the connection is successful. 

  

10. Some versions of Windows may ask what type of Internet connection this is. If this occurs, select Home.
