Amazon Rainforest By: Blake A. B3 You might be wondering what a rainforest is? A rainforest is a tall dense jungle near the equator. Over half of the worlds animals live in the rain forest, but due to deforestation the rainforest is losing trees animals and plants. The rainforest average temperature is about 80 degrees all year long .The climate is hot humid. The climate of the rainforest is tropical. It runs throw Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, French Guiana, Suriname, Venezuela, and Guyana. The latitude longitude range is 5N, 13S, 75E, and 50W. It is in South America. It is in the North, South, and West hemispheres.

You might be wondering what a rainforest is? A rainforest is a tall dense jungle near the equator. The emergent layer is at the very top of the rainforest .The trees get lots of sunlight. Some of the animals that live in the emergent layer are Eagles, Monkeys, Bats, and Butter flies. The types of plants that live in the emergent layer are Broad Leaved Hardwood Evergreens.

The Canopy Layer is next to the emergent layer. This Layer has lots of leaves they are oval shaped. This layer gets a lot of sunlight. The types of habitat that live in this layer are: Snakes, Toucans, and Tree Frogs.

The under story layer is next to the bottom layer. This layer gets very little sunlight. Some plants can grow up to 12 feet. The types of Habitat that live in this layer are Jaguars, Red Eyed Tree Frogs, and Lepards.

The forest floor is the layer at the very bottom of the rain forest. This Layer is often called the shrub layer. It has lot of omnivores or animals that eats meat and plants. This is the layer where most of the decomposer’s live. This layer is the darkest layer of them all. The types of habitat that live in this layer are: Worms, and Giant ant eaters.

The Toucan has a very sharp and colorful bill. The toucan’s habitat is in the canopy layer. They have their sharp and colorful bills because it keeps the predators away, but the toucan has no predators. The toucans adaptations are ; they have a sharp beak and wings to fly to another habitat. The toucans

prey is fruit, Berries , and squash. The toucan is a herbirvore. The toucan is not a carnivore because it does not eat meat.

The sloth is a lazy animal. The sloth can stay in the same tree for years. The sloth lives in the canopy layer of the rain forest .The Sloth has only one predator it is the Jaguar. The sloths adaptation is to camouflages its self from the Jaguar so that it won’t be eaten. The sloths prey/food is: fruit, bugs,

young twigs (small sticks), and leaves. The sloth is an omnivore. It is nomadic.

The foxglove is a very beautiful plant. It grows in different colors. It appearances is it comes out in august-September. Its habitat is in the forest floor. Its uses for people are it helps us

breath, and it makes medicine. It makes food by photosynthesis.

This plant is called orchid. It is also a very beautiful plant. Its appearances are that the petals on the bottom have a very distinctive appearance , but the petals in the middle come out a lot. This plant lives in the forest floor layer. Its uses for people are helping us breath. It is a producer. It is also a living organism.

The Yanomami tribe live in the Amazon rain forest. They live in communities. They hunt with bows and sticks as their arrows .They also use spears to hunt with. They hunt with all most everything in the Amazon rain forest .They live in house. Their houses are built side by side .They also have farm land. They use soil and oxygen from the rain forest. Their houses are made of sticks and leaves. Their culture is they don’t have much clothes and they live balanced with the ecosystem.

The Kayapo Tribe lives in the Amazon rain forest. They live in communities. They hunt for their food They hunt with spears. They live in huts. Their huts are built out of sticks, stones, and leaves. They also have farmland. They use oxygen to breath that the plants give off. Their culture is like they are enrolled ecologically exemplaflifying living in balance with the ecosystem. The Kayapo are indigenous to South America.

Do you like the rainforest? People are cutting down trees and killing plants. We are loesing more and more oxygen every day

because of deforestation. Help save the rainforest by, plant trees, and recycleing . Join me and the others to help save the

rainforest.
