Garage Sale Trail going GangbustersLocal community groups and Council staff are setting a high example in the Shirersquos first year participating

in the 2016 Garage Sale Trail demonstrating how an engaged team and community can drive results

After just five weeks in Blayney Shire Council are in the number one position for sales per capita

registered across the entire state of NSW On a national level we rank in the top 50 Councils with 16

garage sales already registered The use of customised social media posts a good media strategy and

unique follow on ideas have helped make this an all-time record for a first-time participating council

We would like to thank all of the local residents and community groups who have already registered their

garage sales to be part of this special event There is still time to register so make sure you list your event

details at wwwgaragesaletrailcomau and search postcode lsquo2799rsquo to see where all the local garage sales

will be held on 22 October 2016

Council is proud to support the Garage Sale Trail to encourage less landfill to protect our

environment Councils website has information about the program and local sales The Blayney Waste

Facility has a reuse and recycle shop which is open 7 days a week from 9-12 noon and 2-5pm with big

and small items for sale Make sure you drop in on the Garage Sale Trail day if not before

Drive safely as the BIG wet continuesOver the last four months we have seen above average rainfall across our Shire and the

Central West This has resulted in an enormous workload for Council work crews as we try

to patch up potholes remove bog holes on unsealed roads and ensure the roads remain

safe for motorists Works will continue when weather conditions enable us to address

these issues The smallest amount of rain now results in road closures due to flooding and

an increased likelihood of trees requiring clearing from roads Please be careful on the

roads never enter flood waters it may be deeper and faster flowing than you realise and is

a major cause of flood related deaths

Please call the NSW SES 132500 if you need help in storms
