Shortly before Christmas the United States Council of Catholic Bishops called the faithful to prayer for life, marriage and religious liberty. The call came to us in the form of the following flyer. Some of the suggestions made in the call to prayer will require us to talk to committees and councils in order to plan our participation, but we publish the call today to help you begin on this Feast of the Holy Family to follow the bishops’ call to prayer, perseverance and persistence.

The blessed calendars will then be distributed to be used in our homes as a reminder of the holiness of time.
THANK YOU: We thank Brian and Julie Stibal for many years of service as coordinators of our parish’s weekly Eucharistic Adoration. Their generous service has helped our parish to come to a deeper appreciation for and love of the Eucharist as well as offering us the opportunity to pray in the presence of the Lord each week. They have decided to leave this ministry and to pursue other opportunities of service. Celia Knoll will coordinate this ministry beginning January 1. If you have questions about Eucharistic Adoration please contact Celia at the parish office.
THANK YOU to all who donated to the CCW Baby Shower for the Birthright Crisis Pregnancy Center. We had a wonderful response.

Area Faith Community News
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP: The Blessed John Paul II Area Faith Community parish liturgy committees thank the dozens of people who helped prepare our churches for the celebration of Christmas. The beautiful and prayerful atmospheres at all three churches during this season depended on their generous offering of time on a hectic day for us all. We are especially grateful to them for their hard work. There were so many people that it is impossible to thank them by name in this space, and we hope that they will receive this thank you in recognition for their generous efforts.
YOUR PRIESTS THANK YOU: We are grateful for the wishes, prayers, gifts and cards that we received from so many of you during the Christmas season. Your expressions of support and affection for us were moving and very much appreciated. Be assured that we hold you and your families in our prayers and thoughts these holy days. Once again thank you for remembering us.
Fr. Patrick, Fr. Paul and Fr. Tony

THE SACREDNESS OF TIME: As we begin a new year and put up our 2013 calendars it is a good time to remember the sacredness of time. The Liturgical Year in the calendars you receive from generous donors to our parishes remind us that our days and months are a celebration of the mercy, goodness and grace of God. Let us, as Mary did, ponder the wonders of God in our hearts and thank him for the holiness of time.
