Church Office to register Monday through Friday 8:00 am

to 5:00 pm or stop by the Parish Hall the first Sunday of

each month following the 8:45 am and 11:00 am Masses.

BAPTISM: We are pleased to help your family prepare for

Saturday of each month, at 9:00 am at Guadalupana.

Parents and Godparents must attend this class prior to

scheduling baptism.

MARRIAGES: If you are planning to be married at Blessed

Trinity, your preparation process should begin at least four

helping you during your time of engagement and

preparation for the vocation of Christian marriage. Call

the Church Office for an appointment with one of our

priests.

MISSION STATEMENT: Blessed Trinity Catholic Church Stewardship Community recognizes Jesus is Lord. We believe that

our Time, Talent and Treasure are gifts from God to be used for the spiritual, educational and social needs of

our community, the Diocese and the world at large, especially the poor.

STEWARDSHIP BY THE BOOK

“Those who have faith in Me will do the works I do, and far greater than these,” Jesus tells His disciples.

That’s quite an assignment for us as Christian stewards!

WORD OF LIFE

“Heavenly Father, thank you for the precious

gift of life. Help us to cherish and protect this

gift, even in the midst of fear, pain, and

suffering. … Grant us the humility to accept help

when we are in need, and teach us to be

merciful to all.”

NEW PARISHIONERS:

Gabriel and Ana Fontane

Kyle and Megan Moeder

Chris, Steph, Cody and Blake Romero

The word “church” finds its roots in the Greek word ecclesia. However, a correct translation of that word is actually “an assembly of people, called out of their homes into a public meeting place.” Thus, the Church is really the people who make it up; the use of the term in relation to a building has developed through time, but we must never forget that it is we who are indeed the Church.

That is a basic part of something St. Peter writes in our Second Reading. Peter says, “… like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house,” in reference to the members. He is saying in effect that we are called to build a church with living stones, namely ourselves. We all also understand that for a structure to be most effective, every element is needed to keep it strong.

We, as the Church and as our parish, are no different. We need each person, each part of what is really the Church, to be like a living stone, active and involved. We are a faith community, not just a community of worshipers, but a community to reach out and serve others. To really do that we need each member to offer something of himself or herself.

In a message to a celebration about the Church being the people, Pope Francis said, “It is isolation that harms, not sharing. Being among people does not mean merely being open toward others, but also letting others get close to us.” To be open, to be Church, requires each of us to do a part. SERVANT LEADERSHIP TRAINING Attention all Ministry Heads and those that maintain a Leadership Positon at the Parish. Servant Leadership Training will be held on May 17th @ 6:00 pm in the Teacher’s Lounge and on September 20th @ 6:00 pm in the Teacher’s Lounge. This training will outline the role and responsibilities of Parish Leaders/Ministry Heads as well as discuss leadership qualities and the basics of holding effective and productive meetings.

FIRST COMMUNION We congratulate the 143 children who received their First Communion at three First Communion Masses on May 13th. First Communion is a major spiritual step in the journey of a child. We thank all their parents and siblings and extended family members who helped to make their child’s First Communion more special and meaningful. Continue the good work now by celebrating Mass each weekend with your child and by a family prayer time each and everyday. It is the only legacy worthwhile, in the long run, that you can leave your child.

REMEMBERING FRANK SMITH

Frank Smith passed away Sunday, May 7th in

Boynton Beach, Florida. Frank will be remembered

by many as a kind and friendly guidance counselor

who was at Blessed Trinity School from 1988 to

2005. Please join us on Wednesday, May 17th at

8:15am for the children’s Mass when we will

remember Frank.

EMAIL ALERTS! If you would like to receive emails regarding all upcoming Life Teen events, news and updates, please email Julie: [email protected]

Sunday, May 14th: Join us for Mass, but no Life Night – hope you have a special evening, celebrating your mothers – Happy Mother’s Day!!

Sunday, May 21st: Join us for Mass, dinner & Life Night, concluding at 8:00pm. We will begin with an awesome Fr. Mike Schmitz video to illustrate why Christianity is different, and why Jesus really is who He says he is – & the next question that begs to follow….Who are we?! Not what our names are, and what we’re good at…but what is our true identity?! We have two video segments to launch us into some really great discussion. Looking forward to seeing you there!

FOOD FOR LIFE: Every Sunday after the Life Teen Mass, we have an awesome group of teens who are always hungry & excited for whatever meal that has graciously been prepared/provided by a family!! This is an extremely generous gift that is provided to the Life Teen ministry each week, that is greatly appreciated by all who partake in it (teens & Core Team adults alike)! Karen Wood heads up this ministry and is always on the look-out for who she can add to the calendar. If cooking a meal is not an option, providing scrip for a dinner is an option, as well…you don’t have to have a teen involved, to help! Please contact Karen for more details: (352) 239-0578 [email protected]

Who Am I to Judge?

Responding to

Relativism with Logic

and Love

Discussing moral issues with family and friends can be a challenge in a culture that strongly promotes the idea that there is no objective truth. Speaking from a wealth of personal experience, renowned author and

theologian Dr. Edward Sri provides 5 “keys” to enable Christians to oppose with logic and love what Pope Benedict XVI called the “dictatorship of relativism.” He also clarifies the proper understanding of what it means to judge, and the importance of making good judgments.

PLEASE NOTE: The CD/Book Kiosk has been relocated to

FACILITIES CALENDARS

It’s that time of year again time to submit your

calendar request for meeting locations. ALL ministries

and organizations need to submit a calendar for JULY -

DECEMBER 2017 indicating the name of the

organization/ministry, the facility requested, starting and

ending times and name and phone number of the contact

person making the request. The school has made some

changes to the classroom accessibility. Rooms 202 and

that events automatically make it to the calendar. If you

have an event scheduled please make sure a calendar has

been submitted. Calendars will be available in Church

Office. Please return these completed calendars to the

Church Office, Attention: Katherine Baker.

CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN Thank you for your generosity to last week’s collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC). Charismatic Prayer Group Who Are We?

We are a group of ordinary Catholics who celebrate our extraordinary God. We come together each week to: Express our thanks-giving …Seek healing …Pray for each other and the needs of our Church …Grow in faith …Listen to Him speak through Scripture, the quiet & the testimony of what He is doing in each other’s lives …And to grow in the gifts of his Holy Spirit that we may become better equipped to serve Him. We are an informal gathering, a group who has found a Wellspring of Hope in a faith-filled parish. Please come and join us! We meet every Thursday,7-8:30pm in Elder Care Center. Call Richard or Katy for information, 307-9009.
