BLHC 4042: ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS AND NEW BUSINESS (2, 2, 0)

1.0 Learning Outcomes:

Student should be able to:

1.1 Apply the theories governing entrepreneurship, entrepreneur revolution, its historical development, perspectives, disciplines and entrepreneur’s contributions towards society.

1.2 Recognize, define and generate entrepreneur motivation and inculcate entrepreneurship skills necessary for creativity and innovation.

1.3 Interpret and prepare financial statements, conduct marketing research, establish strategic networking and enter global markets to create competitive advantage.

2.0 Synopsis

The course will facilitate undergraduate students with the key entrepreneurship motivation and skills as well as learn and acquire the principles and practices needed to form, enhance and expand their business. The “how”, “how-to” teaching and learning activities, which incorporates theories and practices, will help students acquire and develop the necessary competencies before embarking on any business projects. Besides helping students establish business networks through business talks, seminars and industrial visits, the course will also assist students in understanding issues concerning marketing and strategic management, risks and uncertainties, business sustainability and explore growth opportunities by going international. Students will be provided with the needed tools to generate cash flow statements and fundamentals in developing business plans.
