This poster is simple, dull colours and doesn’t attract my attention to read it. The use of the brown makes the poster look dated, unappealed to the wider audience. Therefore limiting its audience. It looks amatuer as it has been drawn instead of being an image. The flash on the poster is unclear and quite confusing as to what is going on. The text is quite unprofessional and doesnt really enhance the poster in any way. This poster looks recent, modern and appealing to an audience. It uses neutral colours however the red makes it look brighter. The text is white and bold therefore attracting someone to read it. The image is a cliffhanger as we will not know until you watch it. Having Adrian Grenier at the side of the poster gives it an eerie, creepy look. This poster looks scenic, romantic The pastel colours make it calm and the text is warming The high key lighting tells me it is a happy film not a creepy scary film The use of animation brings a unique style

This short film poster is very different compared to the actual film version as it is less mainstream.

The text is much less professional and quite plain for a usual film poster.

The photography looks like it has been done on an amateur camera where as on a film poster there has been professional cameras.

The effects on the poster are not very technical unlike a film poster that has shadow effects etc.

This short film poster is not eye catching and not up to the standards of a mainstream poster.

The use of one image instead of having a montage of pictures.

Short films you can be unique and not have to stick to the conventions of a film poster

This gets across the central idea of the film

Clear idea of what it is about- Straight to the point

Page 3: Blog taskk 2

It is threatening with the corridor and the colours relate to blood.

Faces of the main actors to draw people into watching it.

The knife-like effect cutting into the characters enhances the genre and has all the conventions of a scary film.

This is a typical, mainstream film poster as it is similarly laid out exactly the same as the film 1408.

This film poster includes all the conventions:• Masthead – it is sharp

text indicating threat• Images – the montage

of images and the knife style dividing each image is showing it is a horror

• Cast – showing the main characters and the writing is clear and bold with the red indicating trouble, threat and blood.

The poster is less clear on the story line unlike the short film as it shows clearly what is expected in the short film.

This poster has gone through a lot of editing to make it look professional however the short film is a simple picture.
