1. Literacy- Spelling and Reading

We’re still going to look at silent letters today. How did you get on with silent k? Today we’re going to look at silent w.Here are your words (everyone is doing the same):

Use your words to do some rainbow writing! You can do this in a jotter or a word document. I’ve done the first one as an example.

For reading, I’m going to assign you a book on Giglets. Go and see if you can find the following books and complete the task at the end:

You might notice most groups have a friendship themed book!

2. Maths- 3D Shape Detective

Look at the clues, can you guess the 3D shapes based on their properties? Number them 1-5 and record your answers on a word document. I’ll post the answers at the end of the day. Scroll down

3. Topic- Hieroglyphics

After creating our own cartouche, some of you were interested in the Egyptian writing called hieroglyphics. Today let’s look at them some more!

The Ancient Egyptian’s didn’t have the alphabet like we do, they used symbols for each letter! You’ll see

examples of hieroglyphics everywhere, from tombs to ancient scrolls. Often, they tell a story on the walls of tombs. About 200 years ago, something called The Rosetta Stone was discovered and it had lots of hieroglyphics written on it. It took 20 years to de-code the messages!

Here’s your task today, decode the messages in hieroglyphics and then write your own! Each line is a new message. Good luck!
