Blood Bowl

Blood Bowl is a fantasy football game created by

Jervis Johnson for Games Workshop as a parody of

American Football. The game was first released in

1986 and has been re-released in new editions

since. Blood Bowl is set in an alternate version of

the Warhammer Fantasy setting, populated by

traditional fantasy elements such as human

warriors, goblins, dwarves, elves, orcs and trolls.

If you want to find out more info about Blood

Bowl, you can find it on the official website:

https://www.bloodbowl.com/

Games

All games will use standard Blood Bowl rules as

presented in the 2016 Rulebook, Death zone

Season 1 & 2 and clarified by the latest FAQ from

https://www.bloodbowl.com.

Pre-Match Sequence

1. Roll on the Weather Table

2. Determine FAME for both teams

3. Flip for the Kick (or roll dice if preferred).

4. Place the ball, scatter, and roll on the Kick-Off

Table

5. Play!

Post-Match Sequence

1. Choose one of your players to gain a skill

advance (see ‘Skills’ later on in this pack).

2. Update your Team Roster.

3. Hand your results in for the round.

Selecting your Team

• Coaches may use any team from the

Blood Bowl Official Rule Book, Death Zone

Season 1, Death Zone Season 2, or the

Legacy Teams PDF (BloodBowl.com). You

may also play the Slann team from the

NAF new team pdf available

https://www.thenaf.net

• Coaches have a Treasury of 1,100,000

gold pieces to spend for hiring their team

of eleven or more players.

• You may include a single Star Player in

your starting team, they may be selected

from the Blood Bowl Official Rule Book,

Death Zone Season 1, Death Zone Season

2 or the Legacy Star Players from the list

at the end of this pack.

• You may not buy inducements. However

Goblins may buy their discounted bribes

and Halflings may purchase a Master Chef

as part of their starting line-up.

• Any gold not spent is wasted. You will not

be able to choose additional Inducements

to make up any difference be-tween your

Team Value and your opponents. We

strongly advise that small sums leftover

be spent on Fan Factor, Assistant

Coaches, or Cheerleaders to make your

roster a round 1,100,000 value.

• All teams must be recorded on a Blood

Bowl Roster Sheet. You will need 2 copies

of your Roster Sheet for the week-end: 1

to hand in to the event referee at

registration and 1 for you and your

opponent for the game.

Version 1.0

Injuries

To keep things simple the normal injury rules will

not apply between games. This means that at the

end of each round, your team fully recovers for the

next game. This is to make sure no team gets

heinously destroyed in the first match, and allows

all the coaches in the cup to get some good games

in without having to worry about their favourite

player getting their head smashed in—beyond the

normal boundaries of a Blood Bowl match, of

course!

If you have an Apothecary on your roster he may

be used as normal once per game to force your

opponent to re-roll the Lasting Injury roll and may

then return a Badly Hurt player (11-38 on the

Lasting Injury roll) to your Re-serves Box (see

Death Zone 1, page 38). Please remember that you

cannot use an Apothecary on a Star Player.

Masters Of Undeath: Shambling Undead and

Necromantic Horror coaches may attempt to raise

one Zombie per game should the Lasting Injury roll

be 61-68 DEAD, if that player cannot be revived by

an Apothecary, and assuming they are ST4 or less

and do not have the Regeneration skill.

Roll a D6. On a 6 a normal Zombie is placed in the

Reserves box of your dugout. This Zombie is kept

for the remainder of that game and lost before the

next.

Nurgle's Rot: Nurgle team coaches may attempt to

recruit one Rotter per game should the Lasting

Injury roll be 61-68 DEAD as a result of a Block,

Blitz or Foul action by a player with the Nurgle's

Rot skill, if that player cannot be revived by an

Apothecary, and assuming they are ST4 or less and

do not have the Regeneration skill.

Roll a D6. On a 6 a normal Rotter is placed in the

Reserves box of your dugout. This Rotter is kept

for the remain-der of that game and lost before

the next.

Skills

To keep things simple the normal advancement

rule are not in use. Instead all coaches may give

their team skill advances throughout the course of

the tournament using the following rules:

• In the Post Game sequence select one

player to gain a skill advance

• That player may take any “normal” skill.

Make a note of this on your roster but

you do not need to increase the value of

that player.

• Star Players may not gain any additional

skills or statistic increases.

• Players may not be advanced in this way

more than once, advances must be

distributed around the team.

Conceding

Even if you are losing, we would ask all players to

play to the end of the game to ensure the result is

accurate and both teams get the chance to earn

points and stats. However if you do concede the

following things happen:

• The game ends immediately.

• The Head Coach that conceded

automatically scores 0 Cup Points for their

result.

• The Head Coach that won counts as

having scored the maximum number of

Cup Points for that game (6).

• You should still record all your

Touchdowns, Casualties etc.
