Must be 18-65 years old NOTE: 16-17 y/o must present a letter of consent from

parents or legal guardian

Must weigh 50 kilos or 110 pounds

Must be in good health

Must be free of cough, colds, fever and wounds

Must pass the series of donor screening

Avoid taking medications for 24 hours

Do not drink alcohol

Drink lot of fluids like water and juice

Have enough sleep

Eat light meal

Avoid smoking for atleast 3 hours

Post donation advice…Apply pressure on punctured site

Rest for about 10-15 minutes

Increase fluid intake

Avoid strenuous activities

How to avail blood from PRC blood service facility

1. Get a blood requisition form with complete details:

Patients name Diagnosis Blood type, Rh type Components number of units Doctors signature

2.. In case patient is indigent, get a letter of endorsement from the hospital’s social services (SWA) or PCSO to avail 25% or 100% discount on blood handling fee.
