    1st Stage

    Our rst interview is biographical and competency-based,giving both parties the opportunity to discover whether thevacancy in question is suitable. This will take approximately60 minutes and will be conducted by either the recruitingmanager or a member of the recruitment team. Followingthis interview, there will be an assessment of your match tothe job pro le and Blue Arrows expectations.

    2nd Stage

    If successful at interview, you will be invited to attend asecond interview with a regional director. This will focus ongaining further clari cation of background and competency,identifying a match to the Blue Arrow competencies,which we interview against. Financial examples of previousperformance will be probed and this interview will last up to an hour.

    In the case of Branch Manager positions, following successat the rst face-to-face interview, you will be asked tocomplete a Thomas International PPA and attend a half day

    at our assessment centre.

    PPA - Identi es behavioural characteristics. These are thenevaluated in line with the job description and pro le.

    Following success at the 1st stage and the completion ofthe PPA assessments, prospective Branch Managers will beinvited back to attend an assessment. This will be conductedby the recruiting manager and a member of the Blue Arrowexecutive team. A presentation will be required and you willbe given a brief prior to the assessment giving you time toprepare. This interview and assessment will normally take

    4 hours and will probe deeper into areas already discussedwithin the other interviews and the results from the PPA.

    Realising that it was becoming increasingly dif cult for young people to gain the experience needed when entering the job market,Blue Arrow decided to hire apprentices.

    Our business is all about helping ourlocal communities to either nd jobsfor people or people for jobs. Werealise that it is increasingly dif cult for young people to gain experiencewhen entering the job market.

    people a broad range of skills and can really help give people theexperience needed.

    Undertaking their Apprenticeship withBlue Arrow, enables the apprentices togain valuable experience in a diverseindustry. Modules covered includecustomer service, nance, businessadministration, presentations, someexperience in sales, dealing with of ce

    equipment, checking documentationand various other modules. They learnexcellent communication skills throughdealing with a variety of customersand clients and learn how to workas par t of a team. They also learn theimportance of legislation.

    IMPACT is a non-contractual bene ts programme where you areable to create a reward package speci c to your needs via salarysacri ce agreements. From the IMPACT website, you are also ableto access your contractual bene ts. Here is a reminder of whatthey are:

    Group Life Assurance - you are entitled to Life Assurancecover of 2 x basic salary. This bene t is payable to a namedbene ciary(ies) in the event of your death whilst in the serviceof the company. You will have provided your bene ciaries bycompleting the bene ciary section on the employee details formprovided with your contract. Should your circumstances change and you wish to update your bene ciaries you can download aform from the IMPACT website.

    Annual leave - if you are in full-time employment you willreceive 23 days holiday a year, in addition to public holidays. If youwork on a part-time basis or commence employment part-waythrough the holiday year, your annual leave will be pro-rata. Ourholiday year runs from January to December.

    Birthday off - we believe that birthdays are special and wantyou to enjoy yours doing whatever you want to do. Thats whyyoure not required to attend work on your birthday but stillreceive your normal full basic payment. Should your birthday fallon a weekend or public holiday, you may take the next availableworking day before or after your birthday.

    Pension - you have immediate access to join a pension schemeand the company will start to match your contributions (to amaximum of 3%) after you have successfully completed yourprobationary period.

    Whilst the IMPACT website is available for you to log onto atanytime, from anywhere, you will have limited options until youcomplete six months service, however, you are able to apply forchildcare vouchers or sign up for Give As You Earn beforehand.

    Once you have completed six months service, you will get tostart shaping your reward package. Your bene t selections will belocked until the annual enrolment (normally March) when youwill have the option to either exchange the selected bene ts backinto cash or for an alternative selection of bene ts which suityour needs and desires for the coming year.
