• Purpose– The College Recruiting process is designed to recruit entry level positions for
the Information Technology Group
– “Build Bench”– Promote from within
• Target Group– Recent college graduates– Colleges with specific programs– Entry level job seekers– HCSC College Intern program participants
• History– Program kick-off: May 2010– Partners with College Intern program
Basic Requirements

• Education– Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology
• Candidate must have earned his/her Bachelor’s degree
• Applicants who have graduated from current year +3 are eligible for consideration
• Selected from schools that have been identified as having programs that support the educational requirements for qualification
– Minimum GPA of 3.0– Experience (class work or outside class work) in technology
• Preferred– 3.5 GPA– “Real world” experience– HCSC College Intern program participants

• Identify Need– Budget determined for number of positions– IT areas submit requests– Approval obtained for number of positions and salary
• Recruit– HR partners with colleges– College fairs– Internal referrals– HCSC Website– Partnerships with technology companies (with training programs)– Internship Program
• Supporting Programs and Plans– Mentoring program– College Internship Program

• Locations• Illinois · Texas · Oklahoma
• Job Titles – Entry Level Positions– Jr. Technical Specialist
• Basic Function: Participate in implementation, integration and support of mainframe, mid-frame or PC operating systems products; and basic understanding of subject matter.
– Jr. Web Developer• Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Web
applications; maintaining graphical and navigational consistency across HCSC Web sites; and collaborating with project managers in key Web development initiatives.
– Jr. Database Analyst• Responsible for administration of procedures and practices regarding data
access and upkeep for a specific database technology.
Summer Intern Program Basics
• Position Selection Criteria – Type of work (non clerical)– Learning experience– Well defined tasks– Commitment to supervise
• Intern Selection Criteria– Targeted Schools– Computer Science related Degree– Entering Junior or Senior Year of Bachelor’s Program– Grade point of 3.0 or better– Related coursework preferred
• Nine Week Program
