For the past three years, Carollo’s Blue Plan-it® (BPI) Decision Support System has offered our engineers and clients a powerful one-of-a-kind tool for planning water and wastewater projects. BPI allows users to conduct what-if analyses, treatment alternative analyses, sensitivity analyses, optimization, and dynamic capital improvement planning using its intelligent process flow diagram (iPFD), scenario manager, and interactive decision support dashboards. However, like most software tools, the BPI desktop version requires license management, software installation, model setup trainings, and maintenance services that present technical and operational obstacles that limit productivity to key software users. Using the cutting-edge Application Service Provider (ASP) technology, state-of- the-art SQL server connections, and powerful open-source Tethys platform, the BPI web portal and apps combine a contemporary and friendly user interface with the powerful computation and data processing engine of BPI. Compared to the full desktop version, the BPI web apps offer the following benefits to our clients: EASY TO USE Requires NO software installation. Requires NO user training. Instant access with free registration. Edit inputs, run model, view results, and download reports, all via a secured network. CONTEMPORARY AND CONVENIENT Accessible from Carollo network or internet via secured user login. Accessible from computers, iPads, and smart phones. Interactive and intuitive visualization of the project and data. POWERFUL Utilize dashboards to run powerful analysis engine over web. Run what-if analysis, sensitivity analysis, and extended time simulation. Built-in capabilities for process optimization and cloud computing. Web GIS integration.

Recommended Way of Transferring BPI Tools to Clients

BLUE PLAN-IT® WEB PORTAL AND APPS

Why Web Portal and Apps?

Using the cutting-edge Application Service Provider (ASP) technology, state-of-the-art SQL server connections, and powerful open-source Tethys platform, the BPI web portal and apps combine a contemporary and friendly user interface with the powerful computation and data processing engine of BPI. Compared to the full desktop version, the BPI web apps offer the following benefits to our clients:

EASY TO USE• Requires NO software installation.

• Requires NO user training.

• Instant access with free registration.

• Edit inputs, run model, view results, and download reports, all via a secured network.

CONTEMPORARY AND CONVENIENT

• Accessible from Carollo network or internet via secured user login.

• Accessible from computers, iPads, and smart phones.

• Interactive and intuitive visualization of the project and data.

POWERFUL• Utilize dashboards to run powerful

analysis engine over web.

• Run what-if analysis, sensitivity analysis, and extended time simulation.

• Built-in capabilities for process optimization and cloud computing.

• Web GIS integration.

An Integrated ApproachThe BPI web portal allows us to offer our clients a suite of powerful and complex BPI Decision Support System tools using simple and friendly interfaces. With BPI set up on our server, all features of BPI desktop tools, including complex computations, Monte Carlo simulation, and sensitivity analysis and optimization, can be accessed from web apps customized to meet client needs. Connected with SQL server, web GIS, and a series of external specialty models such as EPANet, SWRM, and biological treatment process models, the capability of BPI continues to grow. With this approach, data and results of complex analysis can now be accessed from anywhere, at any time using computers, iPads, and other smart mobile devices. This allows us to deliver BPI tools to our clients without burdening them with licenses, software installation, and training. It also makes it easy to share and transfer data and information among multiple users.

Contemporary Dashboards and MoreThe BPI web apps offer access to massive data and complex results in forms of simple charts, tables, maps, calendars, and PDF reports, that can be easily communicated and shared. It can also be supplemented with popular business intelligence tools and business analytics platforms such as Tableau and Power BI. Beyond good-looking visuals and meaningful dashboards, the BPI web apps allow the user to trigger real-time computer simulations and complex analyses and optimization to solve complex water-related problems for our clients.

The BPI corrosion and stability app assists engineers and clients to analyze the chemical composition of water supply, and assess the corrosivity and stability under various conditions.

The BPI One Water LA model was converted to a web app with enhanced web GIS interface and dynamic capital improvement planning dashboards.

The BPI web portal and apps allow users to access data and results of complex analysis from anywhere, at any time using computers, iPads, and other smart mobile devices.

The BPI web portal is designed to host a suite of secured, multi-user, web-based water engineering apps.

Water is all we do…and now we do it online.
