The Governance of the System

• Auditing will be done at three levels:

o Level 1 Self assessments by the sites and operations

o Level 2 Assessments by the Businesses (Australia & NZ, ASEAN, North America, etc)

of their sites

o Level 3 Governance audits by BlueScope Steel OH&S (or a third party) to sample

verify the Business assessments, to calibrate across businesses and to report back to

the HSEC sub-committee of the Board.

• An audit tool have been developed:

o available to all sites for Self Assessment and allowing them to understand the exact

expectation for each element.

o have guidelines built into the tool, question by question, to assist auditees and auditors

understand the expectations.
