Stirring well before use is advised for complete homogenization. The emulsion is not applied during rain. Applied temperature is 2 oC - 60 oC.
ConsumptionConsumption depends on the sub-layer and its use: tack coats 0,6 - 0,8 kg/m2 (old surfaces), 0,4 - 0,6 kg/m2 (new surfaces). Surface treatments and core aggregates impregnation 1,0 - 1,2 kg/m2. Concrete sub-layer 0,8 - 1,0 kg/m2.
Packaging - StorageBulk in tank trucks and in 200 lt (210 kgs) barrels.Frost (temperature < 2 oC) and high temperatures (> 60 oC) protection is needed to avoid thrombosis of the emulsion. In case of storing the emulsion in tanks for a long period, the tanks should be thermo-insulated and must have stirring or re-circulation system. In case of packaging the emulsion in barrels the maximum storage period is (1) one year in covered place.
PrecautionsAvoid skin and eye contact. In case of contact use plenty of water and seek medical advice. Appropriate means of self-protection must be used. Non toxic. It must not be disposed to surface and still water.
emulbitCationic bituminous emulsion
General descriptionRapid setting and low viscosity cationic emulsified asphalt based on road bitumen, water and special emulsifiers. The use of bituminous emulsion KE-1 instead of cutback asphalt or hot road asphalt improves the quality of the executed works and increases the pavement resistance. This is achieved, as the road surface is fully and homogenously covered with a thin layer of asphalt. Also money and time saving is achieved, because no use of heat required during any state of application. It can be used to wet surfaces without anti-stripping agent’s addition.

Hot applied bituminous mastic
General descriptionBJS is a specially formulated hot applied polymer modified bitumen sealant. It can also act as a binder for asphaltic plug bridge joints. It has good adhesion to porous or smooth surfaces. The material remains elastic in temperatures varying from -20 oC to 80 oC. It has strong resistance to low concentration acid and base solvents. It is not affected by subsoil salts but is vulnerable to petroleum solvents.
ApplicationsBJS is used for:• Sealing of horizontal joints, expansion joints of terraces, buildings, bridges etc.• Sealing of road surface cracking.• Joining of any compatible materials in road surface.Compatible with concrete, light concrete, brick, asbestos-cement, metal.
Application methodThe application surface must be free of dust, oils and waste materials. The material must be heated to 160 oC - 190 oC. The use of an oil piping system for heating is recommended. Repeated heating or exceeding the temperature of 220 oC, may result in permanent loss of the materials elastic properties. The container content must be stirred well for its complete homogenization. When the application surface of the joint is not of bitumen base, BITULAC PRIMER should be applied first. Placement of an elastic lace (closed-cells) is recommended for the right configuration and operation of the joint. Equipment used can be cleaned with white spirit or petroleum solvents.
ConsumptionThe consumption is 110 - 130 gr/m of 1x1 cm joint.
Packaging - StorageIn metal containers with a net weight of 20 kgs.If the container remains sealed, it can last in storage for a period of two years.
PrecautionsSpecial precautions should be taken as it is applied hot. Avoid inhalation of vapors as well as skin and eye contact. Use the appropriate means of self protection. It is not toxic and does not contain solvents.
