Welcome back to Term 4. All staff and students have returned with a clear focus on quality teaching and learning. We have implemented a school wide policy to allow for learning to continue and progress uninterrupted. Students will remain in class and will only leave the classroom if they are sick, injured or need to go to the toilet. The office won’t be running messages before 1pm to ensure the quality learning environment is maintained. Thanks for your support in implementing this policy. Some of our staff attended an intensive technology workshop this week and found it highly engaging and worthwhile. Staff learned about the benefits of Google Drive, Seesaw, Showbie, Nearpod and Book Creator. We are continuing to strive to keep you well informed of your child’s progress and we are hoping to develop digital portfolio style work samples so you can see what your child is learning about. All staff will complete the training before the end of the term and we are all excited about the possibilities. Stay tuned! Kinder transition starts next Thursday for our 2017 Kindergarten students. We’re all excited and can’t wait to meet the next generation of Boambee students. Our Year 6 students also start their transition journey next week. It’s hard to believe that Year 6 only has 9 weeks of primary school left! Thank you to parents for completing the Tell Them From Me survey. The survey provides us with valid data about your school and assists us in shaping future directions. All feedback is greatly appreciated. The coffee van will be here on Thursday, from 8.00am until 9.30am providing you with free coffee and hopefully you’ll have time for a quick chat with staff. We love having you here and really value the opportunity to speak to you about your children and your school. Our school calendar is filling up quickly and I hope to see you at a school event in the near future. We welcomed several university students to our school this week. Welcome to Jed Venn (2H), Luke Drain (5/6T) Annabelle Duiguid (KF), Jasmine Cridge (KD), Brooke Wicks (2S) and Ryse Evans (1G - absent). Have a great weekend! Brad Lyne - Principal 2017 Kindergarten Transition Day On Thursday, 20th October from 9.15am until 11.00am the first of the transition programs will commence. The children will participate in early literacy, numeracy, craft, singing and tabloid activities in the Kinder classroom. Parents are invited to attend a brief information session in our school hall. The topics to be presented include an introduction to Best Start, the L3 reading program, and Eat it to Beat it. NSW PSSA State Athletics Good Luck to Elke Bowles and Zac Wilson who will be competing in the State Athletics on Wednesday and/or Thursday. 14th October, 2016 Term 4, Week 1 BOAMBEE BULLETIN Phone 6653 1107 ‘Achievement through Effort’ Fax 6658 2543 E-mail [email protected] BPS online www.boambee-p.schools.nsw.edu.au “It’s okay to not know, but it’s not okay not to try” Hats With the hot weather upon us please make sure your child has a school hat. Bingo We desperately need your help. We are losing six of our fabulous volunteers and having trouble replacing them. We also need to reapply for funding from the Cex Club to get the room hire for free, but there is no point in doing this if we can’t get some new volunteers. Bingo is very important to our school and has been the major fundraiser for more than 15 years, once we give it up we will not get it back. It raises on average $10,000 each year for the P&C. We are having a come and learn about bingo night on Tuesday, 18th October starting at 6.00pm. If you have ever thought Bingo might be something you can do come along and have a chat or see what it is all about. Eyes down at the Coffs Ex Services Club every Tuesday from 7.00pm. Please come along and have some Bingo fun.

You are invited to come and see, learn about bingo night on the second week back from holidays,
