I am board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Critical Care. I currently serve as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and CardiacAnesthesia Recovery Unit and Co-Director of the Center for Acute Care Nephrology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. I also serve on the executive committeefor the 2021 World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. For the last 16 years, my career has focused on the care of critically ill neonates, infants, childrenand adults with complex congenital and acquired heart disease, with a particular interest in how care delivery in the intensive care unit can impact morbidity. My research isfocused on extracorporeal support, acute/chronic kidney injury and patient outcomes.

I am proud to have had an extensive relationship with the PCICS since 2001. I have been actively involved in the PCICS meetings since 2005, serving as the PCICS meetingco-director from 2008-2012 and meeting director in 2014 and 2016 (with Dawn Tucker). The 2014 and 2016 PCICS meetings were highly successful with record attendance,diversity of faculty and interdisciplinary content. Additionally, I have served as the Treasurer since 2013 and on the Board of Directors since 2011. I have been involved in themultiple initiatives surrounding the transformation of the society into a more responsive, modern-day organization, including increasing interdisciplinary participation, guiding thesociety toward a more international presence, and promoting the financial growth and stability of the society (including advocating for and facilitating transition to a newmanagement company ).
