The New Jersey Department of Education has recognized the Newton Public Schools as a high performing school district. The distinction comes through the state’s monitoring system known as the Quality Single Accountability Continuum or QSAC. QSAC includes five areas of school district performance: instruction & program, fiscal management, governance, personnel, and operations. Following the review, Sussex Executive County Superintendent Dr. Rosalie Lamonte noted, “You were able to give us a good overview of the many efforts that are being spearheaded to improve teaching and learning in Newton, and to address the social and emotional wellbeing of students.
