BCB has 5 years experience producing non-lethal Boat Stopping Systems. The range utilises the same basic concept consisting of a pneumatic launcher that fires an arrestor line across the bow of a suspect or intruding vessel.

Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies are using these systems in Littoral Waters, Inland Waterways, Ports and Harbours

How Does It Work?There are three launcher systems that comprise the range

Sea Stinger A large fixed launcher that can be mounted on shore installations, including jetties, to control entry and exit from harbours.

Buccaneer A medium sized mobile launcher that is ideally mounted on a patrol vessel with the speed and range to pursue, overtake and subdue suspect vessels

Barracuda A small hand-held launcher that can be used by on-shore foot patrols or in a patrol craft in confined waters.

LINE ARRESTOR SYSTEMThe arrestor line system is simple and e!ective.

Each system fires a floating Dynema or Spectra line with a sea anchor at both ends. The line and sea anchors are launched in a streamlined container (the munition). At the end of the flight the sea anchors deploy. The floating line entangles the stern gear on outboard or inboard/outboard motors, the sea anchors then inflate and create drag to slow the target vessel to a virtual stop in a matter of seconds.

SEA STINGERCurrently the largest production member of the pneumatic launcher family.

V BARRELBoth Buccaneer and Sea Stinger can be given a unique capability by mounting two barrels on a common manifold in a V configuration so that the launcher can fire both ends of the floating line at once, thus enabling the line to be projected perpendicular to the firing point. This is e!ective in a head-on encounter scenario where a line can be laid down in front of the target, for protecting an asset against an incoming threat or laying down a barrier behind the launching vessel.

BARRACUDA

A handheld device capable of launching a 40 yard arrestor line and two 3’ sea anchors.
