Diagnostics + Technology

Empower launched innovative COVID-19

testing for the US market in early 2020 and is

testing solutions to hospitals, medical clinics, pharmacies,

and employers.

Prior to and amplified with the current pandemic, Empower

state-of-the-art electronic health records platform to best

These transactions are the execution of an aggressive growth plan for

Empower’s clinical and digital presence throughout the US and Canada.

In May 2019, we acquired US-based Sun Valley Health which focused

In addition to our existing clinics in the US, Empower completed its first

Canadian clinic acquisition in December 2020 that will lead to a rapid nationwide rollout.

The acquisition of Texas-based KAI

Medical Laboratory establishes the

science and research side of Empower.

Our lab offers a wide array of testing

services ranging from hematology to

hormone testing, endocrinology,

toxicology, and immunology through

its hospitals, medical clinics and

pharmacies.

Our High Complexity CLIA and COLA accredited lab

is active in COVID-19 testing, RT-PCR testing and

serology testing with the capacity to process 4,000

RT-PCR test specimens per day.

In 2020, Empower repurposed its

pre-existing diagnostic testing to

serve the massive demand for

national COVID testing in the US.

In partnership with Loop Insights Inc., Empower

The KAI Medical ABC PCR test

launched Q4 2020.

The tests are developed with the highest

of standards and meet CDC, Health

Canada and FDA guidelines for

distribution and sale.

KAI Medical completed clinical trials,

laboratory analysis and validation of the

API Pharma Rapid COVID-19 Antigen test

submitted to the FDA for approval for use

in the US and has submitted a Health

Canada application.

Kai Medical has developed a Saliva

PCR test for at home specimen collection

to detect COVID-19 and Influenza A/B with

end user comfort in mind.
