Re: Distribution of Alcohol on Campus
It was reported to me by the District's Professional Standards Administrator, Tom Schatte, thatthe spouse of a Shoemaker High School teacher had complained to him that you had given theteacher a small vial of alcohol as part of a Christmas present.
When I met with you concerning the complaint, you informed me that you had given the smallbottle of alcohol to some of the staff members. You stated that you did not realize that it waswrong to do so. You said that the alcohol and a set of Christmas napkins were given as gifts.
It is my findings that even though the small vials of alcohol were given to staff members asChristmas gifts, you did violate the KISD Employee Standards of Conduct DH(Local) - A which
states that:
Employees shall not manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess, use or be under theinfluence of alcohol or any alcoholic beverages.
Attached to this memorandum is a copy of the above mentioned policy for you to review anddirected to follow.
You are hereby reprimanded and your failure to follow the above policy or directive will result infurther disciplinary action.
