COMBINE DIFFERENT DEPTHSYou can place elements of a depth of 31 cm on top of a 39 cm deep element. You can also integrate a desk unit or bar into a shelf. Cabinets are available with LED lighting.

ADD VARIETY WITH DOORSFiling cabinets are available with a lifting door or pair of doors. Maximise storage space inside a cabinet by adding a shelf.

EXTEND UPWARDSYou can stack as many elements on top of each other as space allows. Modules can also be placed above doorways or ex-tended around the corner along the adjacent wall.

A unique partner

Uneven texture, colour variation and minor cracks are all part of the nature of wood. The differing shades are a result of colour variation in the surface of the wood. Colour is also affected by whether the piece is from sapwood or heartwood, the time of year the tree was cut down and the drying method.

Correct placement

Wooden furniture does not tolerate strong moisture and temperature fluctuations. Excess moisture may cause it to bend or crack and result in open glue joints. The UV rays of the sun can cause colour changes on the surface of the wood. All Boknäs furniture is intended solely for indoor use.

Good riddance to dust

Dusting furniture with an anti-pilling, moist cloth is all the basic care that is needed. Dusting with a dry cloth may scratch the surface. If using detergents, always test the product on an unnoticeable spot in advance. To polish a piece of furniture, apply the polish to the entire treated area

and wipe off any excess product. Polish with a circular motion with a dry cloth or according to the instruc-tions on the package. Different types of products may harm the surface. When cleaning glass doors, avoid any glass cleaners that contain ammonium, as they may result in a dull finish.

Getting rid of stains

Remove coffee, alcohol or juice stains immediately, as they may get

stuck to the surface already within an hour. First try removing the stains with clean water and a cloth. You can also use products designed for cleaning furniture, such as a general-purpose cleaning solution. White spirit solvent can be applied to water-insoluble stains. Do not use any other type of solvent. Finish off by wiping the surface with a clean cloth moistened with water.

Protect from scratches

Abrasives, harsh cloths and cushions damage surfaces and may cause vari-ation in shine. Also strong alkalic and acidic detergents damage varnished surfaces. Use furniture waxes in mode ration. Surfaces may get damaged when removing layers of wax. Also nail polish removers, perfumes and hairsprays containing solvents damage varnished surfaces.

Shield from heat

Make sure to use thick enough protection under hot, cold or moist dishes. Dishes placed directly on the surface may leave a white ring. Furniture should be moved by lifting. Dragging along the floor puts pressure on joints and loosens them.

Durable wood through proper care

A natural, unique wooden piece of furniture creates a stiking and durable partner. Removing dust is almost all the care that is needed.

Colour with a Difference

Boknäs Classic furniture comes in 14 colour options. Shelf sys-tem elements are also available as shortened versions, meaning that creating unique, tailored fittings is easier for any space. In addition to assembling shelf and furniture configurations from elements of your choice, you can also get creative with colour. A piece of furniture in a single colour is always a stylish option, but also different sha-des can be blended together. Colour plays a stronger role the larger the unit. An intense colour transforms a piece into an eye-catcher in an instant.

Alone or Together

When selecting the right shade, consider the colours of other pieces in the same space. Make the most of each piece of furniture by ensuring colours blend seamlessly together. Everything does not have to come in the same shade of wood, but a narrower palette does create a tranquil ambience. White works with all other hues. A varnished surface accentuates the natural texture of wood. Mid-brown, dark brown, birch, woodwash, rosewood and oak are all tones that reveal the wood grain beautifully. A combination of wenge and oak works nicely, as does snow white and oak.
