Honduras jugará por el séptimo lugar después de vencer a Santa Lucía

San Salvador, El Salvador 1 de agosto del 2014. Honduras venció 3‐0 a Santa Lucía (25‐10, 25‐10, 25‐19) para lograr su primera victoria en el Campeonato Continental NORCECA Sub 21 de varones que se realiza en el “Palacios de los Deportes”.

La victoria le permite a Honduras jugar ante México este sábado por el séptimo lugar, mientras Santa Lucía finalizó su participación en el Continental Sub

21 quedando en el noveno lugar con marca de 3‐0 en ganados y perdidos.

Los centroamericanos comandaron en ataque 23‐16, bloqueo 8‐4 y puntos con servicio 4‐2. Honduras anotó 40 puntos por errores de Santa Lucía, y solamente cometió 17.

William Thompson con 12 puntos fue el mejor anotador por los hondureños, mientras Tevin St. Jean anotó seis por Santa Lucía.

Juan Napki, líbero de Honduras y Thompson hicieron un buen trabajo en la defensa y recepción, elementos en los que están entre los mejores jugadores del torneo.

Thompson antes de este juego tenía 55.10 y Napki 50.94 en efectividad en recepción, mientras Thompson conseguía siete recepciones excelentes y tres “salvadas”. Nakpi logró ocho defensas y antes del partido lideraba este departamento con 2.13 de average por set.

Honduras won Saint Lucia and will play for seven place

San Salvador, El Salvador. August 1, 2014‐ Honduras beat St. Lucia 3‐0 (25‐10, 25‐10, 25‐19) for their first win at the Men’s U‐21 NORCECA Continental Championship at “Palacios de los Deportes”.

The victory earned Honduras the right to play México on Saturday for seventh place. St. Lucia finishes the continental championship in ninth place with 0‐3 win‐loss record.

The Central Americans led in spiking by 23‐16, blocks 8‐4 and in service points by 4‐2. Honduras scored 40 points on Saint Lucia’s errors while committing 17.

William Thompson with 12 point was the best scorer of Honduras. Tevin St. Jean led St. Lucia with six points.

Juan Napki, Honduras’s Libero and Thompson made a good job with the dig and reception and they are between the best players in this skills.

Thompson and Napki, before this game, had 55.10 and 50.94 in effectivity like receivers, and today Thompson got seven receptions and three dig and Nakpi eight, he is the best in this skills with 2.13 average by set.

Estados Unidos a semifinales al vencer a El Salvador

San Salvador, El Salvador, 1 de agosto del 2014‐ Estados Unidos clasificó a las semifinales del Campeonato Continental NORCECA Sub 21 de Hombres el jueves con una victoria 3‐0 sobre El Salvador (25‐15, 25‐21, 25‐18).

Estados Unidos jugará la semifinal el sábado contra Canadá. El Salvador jugará en el partido del domingo por el quinto lugar contra el perdedor entre Puerto Rico y Barbados.

El equipo estadounidense aventajó a El Salvador en ataques (39‐17), bloqueo 10‐3 y aces (6‐1). El jugador Opuesto de Estados Unidos, Benjamin Plaisted lideró a los anotadores con 15 puntos y Storm Faagata‐Tufuga anotó 11. El capitán de El Salvador Samuel Valdez anotó 9 y Mauricio Rivas seis.

San Salvador, El Salvador, August 31, 2014 – United States qualified for semifinals of the NORCECA Boys’ U‐21 Continental Championship on Thursday with a win 3‐0 over El Salvador (25‐15, 25‐21, 25‐18).

United States will play in Saturday’s semifinal against Canada. El Salvador will play in Sunday´s match for fifth place against the loser between Puerto Rico and Barbados.

United State led El Salvador in kills (39‐17), block 10‐3 and aces (6‐1). United States´s Opposite player Benjamin Plaisted led scorers with 15 points and Storm Faagata‐Tufuga scored 11. El Salvador´s captain Samuel Valdez scored 9 and Mauricio Rivas six.

San Salvador, El Salvador. 01 de agosto 2014. Puerto Rico confirmó su lugar en semifinales del Europeo sub‐19 el Campeonato Continental NORCECA de Hombres 'con una victoria por 3‐0 sobre Barbados 25‐15, 25‐16, 25‐11 en los cuartos de final el viernes en "Palacios de los Deportes ".

Puerto Rico (2‐1) jugará contra Cuba (3‐0) este sábado a las siete de la noche, en semifinales, mientras Barbados (2‐1) jugará con El Salvador (0‐3) en el partido por el quinto lugar, el domingo a las 3:00 p.m. En la otra semifinal, Canadá enfrentará a Estados Unidos a las 5:00 p.m..

El ataque de Puerto Rico le dio muchos problemas a Barbados con Roberto Pérez anotando 15 puntos, nueve por ataque, Jon Rivera con 11, nueve por remates y 10 de Félix Martínez. Puerto Rico (2‐1) will play Cuba (3‐0) in Saturday’s 7 p.m. semifinal while Barbados

(2‐1) will play El Salvador (0‐3) in the match for fifth place Sunday at 3 p.m. In the other Semifinals´s match, Canada will face United State at 5:00 p.m.

Puerto Rico’s attack gave Barbados the most problems with Roberto Perez scoring 15 points, nine for Spike and Jon Rivera 11, nine for attack. Puerto Rico led in spike 34‐21, it also led in blocks (11‐5) and aces (6‐0). Puerto Rico also scored 23 points on Barbados errors while committing 18.
