A quote from well known Radio One DJ- Zane Lowe is included on the advert design to encourage the target audience and indie listeners to purchase a copy of the album. This form of endorsement further promotes the album and would impact customer decisions.

The image is the largest feature on this advert and is used to grab the audience attention. The image is a direct copy of the one featured on the ‘Flaws’ digipak front cover and would allow the target audience to associate the album and this poster as complementary products. This would increase recognition of the digipak when seen in stores after viewing the advert.

Again, as seen throughout the digipak for this album, the colour scheme used is dull and drab; this expresses feelings of heartache and sadness to the audience, which represents the general theme across the songs featured.

The landscape set page for the advert allows the image to be spread across the entire page and create even more of a statement and increase the level of drama created through the product. This page layout develops the predominant layout of those in the indie genre within industry which are usually portrait.

The text being formatted in black, and some in white allows each piece of information to stand out against each other and stand out on the page. As the text is displayed directly below each other piece, through the formatting of different colours, it remains in line and consistent with the employed colour scheme as well as allowing the information to seem more significant and appealing to the audience.

The right alignment of the text on the advert is a convention taken from the digipak- contributing towards the consistency across both ancillary texts. It also appears more aesthetically pleasing for the audience as, in the image, the woman’s face is angled towards the right; as the text is aligned from the same direction, it makes the design seem more attractive.

The advert includes a webpage address. This would encourage fans/target audience to visit this and fins out more as the design itself does not give much insight as to what to expect from the album. Increasing the likelihood of viewers developing interest and purchasing a copy of ‘Flaws’.

Font size gradually decreases to represent the level of significance the information has in relation to the album. It also makes the poster seem less overwhelming at the same time as emphasising important details of the album.
